Hopefully with LMA's progress as the focal point of the defense and some quality minutes from Roy - this would not be an issue this year.

You understand why, right? The Suns weren't penalized by switching Hill and Nash on defense because Nico couldn't use one arm. The game where Nash covered Dre, he put up over 30 points and we won.

People seem to forget that Phoenix got away with murder because of how injured Nico was.
 
Good move by the Nets. I dunno what Utah is going to do with Millsap and Favors and Jefferson... I think Favors will be the best of the three, but stockpiling power forwards (two of whom can't really play center) is not usually that smart.

Give me a break, even if Nick has both arms he wasn't scoring jack dick. Hell he has both arms now and it is a crap shoot every night as to if he shows up on offense, let alone lean on him for some scoring in the playoffs.
 
IMO Denver and Utah are in the same boat. Both lost All NBA players and both will be replacing them with good but not great players. They both will have a lot of good young talent, but none of them will be as good as Melo and Williams.

Deron is a fierce competitor. He hates to lose. He can be a prick to ownership and his teammates, but I am really happy he is gone east.

Did you see what Nico did when Gentry tried that same trick this year? Batum posted Nash up and scored at will or when they brought the double, passed out for an easy score. Alvin switched it back after three or four times down the floor and we haven't seen it again this season.

Yes, it was very easy. All it took was for Phoenix to focus their entire team defense toward stopping him and no one else on Portland being able to take advantage.

Miller's terrible. An entire team defense focused on him and he suddenly stops being productive.
 
Maybe I'm reading the thread wrong, but are people actually disappointed about not getting Devin Harris? lol
 
The more I read, the more I think O'connor (Jazz GM) really played this well. Knicks' Walsh is kind of grousing now that he didn't even know Williams was available. Of course he didn't; I think O'Connor had already decided he wanted to trade Williams but he knew that the Nets had the better assets to trade. He wanted to make sure the Knicks stayed interested in Anthony so they would offer a good package and get him. Then after that went down , he was patient and waited until NJ brought up Williams idea and said he would "think about it", thereby making it look like they were not anxious to trade him. And they ended getting what they wanted.

O'Connor played the NBA like a Stradivarius. He knew Williams would be a problem and not commit to the team. Rather than let that problem fester in public--like the Thuggets and Cavs--he made the quick move and got a TON of assets in return. I think this trade is one of the few that's win-win. And it's a damn sight better than Denver did for Melo.
