Nets One of Four Teams Interested in Pacers' Armstrong

No thank you. I used to love this guy when he was in Orlando with T-Mac, but now he is too old to take the chance with. Plus we already have 3 point guards. We don't need a fourth.

I wouldn't be opposed to this move simply from the standpoint that someone currently on the Nets' roster is bound to get hurt. It's always nice to have veteran depth and not have to rely on an inexperienced player to play starting minutes.

Who's the third point guard, Hite? Aside from probably not belonging in the league talent-wise, the guy's a 6'2" wing. He's no replacement if Kidd goes down, and you know he will, if even for five or ten games.

The Nets may not have a lot of talent in the frontcourt compared to most teams, but they do have depth: Krstic, Magloire, Collins, Boone, Ilic, and S. Williams. That's more rotation players than a lot of teams have in the post. They should use their last roster spot for a veteran backcourt player.

I actually wouldn't mind if Orlando got him back. I mean we lost Diener and could possibly trade Dooling so we would have Arroyo and Nelson as our PGs. It would be nice for him to come back to Orlando.

And Armstrong is a replacement if Kidd goes down? I don't think there is much difference between having Hite off the bench or Kidd.

Ilic is not even going to be with the team most of the time (D-league). Despite that, perhaps you are right about the Nets needing to fill out the roster with a back-court player. Remember though, Carter can be asked to run the point in case of Kidd being out.
