Wow, I love this thread, it's getting VERY interesting.

Firstly--thanks for the in-depth analyzing, those 4 players excelling really sounds good...and I really hope we can get Allen AND Hite on this team too.

Although I've been iffy about Allen, I liked him a couple years ago in Miami, but seeing that it seems he wasn't that great in Chi sorta turned me off. I hope he can produce for this team, like you said...and that Hite could be that guy "replacing" House off the bench. I'd much rather have him over an old, unproven (in terms of healthiness and whether or not he could last a whole season) Houston.

And about starting Boki...I'd be against it. Even if Krstic takes it slow and comes off the bench, I'd rather have a unit in that's strong in defense, with at least one big who has some type of offensive skill down low--whether it's posting up, making a close shot, or just hitting a layup/dunking the ball.

With Gerald Wallace and Shawn Marion, though, the two forwards are pretty strong in defense - they're pretty good at defending their man, really good at rebounding, and great at blocking shots and stealing. Boki doesn't really possess any of those skills...and that's a big reason I wouldn't want him starting, when comparing him to those guys.

And to go along with what FOMW was saying, the running game you'd want with Boki wouldn't come with a starting unit consisting of Collins and Boki at the 5 and 4. Neither are good rebounders, shot blockers, or stealers, and Boki isn't a great defender, so it'd be a bit tougher to get the fastbreak going with him at the 4 as opposed to, for example, Magloire, who can rebound and block shots, Josh Boone, who can rebound pretty well and maybe get some blocks, or Allen, who can rebound and block shots, when given some good playing time.

Although it's highly unlikely, in at least one preseason game, I'd like to see Williams start a game, just to see how he'd do along side Kidd, RJ, VC, and Collins. His rebounding, shotblocking, and athleticism could prove to be good in the fastbreak game alongside Kidd and RJ...I'm not sure if he could come in and produce so quickly, but who knows.
