The Nets won 15 of their last 19 games to earn the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but they were swept by the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
"I am thrilled to continue my relationship with the Nets organization," Stefanski said. "Rod has been my mentor since I joined the league, and I feel very comfortable with the direction of the team under Bruce Ratner and his ownership group."

I think he deserved a contract extension. From turning the Nets into championship team a couple years ago and having that nice run to the NBA Finals in two consecutive years later than taking a step back with that Martin and Kittles trade but when people started counting the Nets out he brings in Vince Carter and the Nets are suddenly a in the second tier among the teams in the East. In my opinion they are just one good big man away from being a major threat in the East. Not to mention, he did a good job picking up Nenad Krstic which turned out to be a very nice prospect.
