Nets Small Ball vs the Knicks

To start the 2nd half the Nets went small ball with Armstrong, Carter, Wright, Jefferson, and Collins. They then went on a 15-2 run for the first 3 minutes of the quarter. The Knicks subbed out Curry to try and match up and the Knicks didn't really hurt the Nets on the boards or scoring inside the paint. However, the Nets did hurt the Knicks with 3 balls and jumpshots and a little pressure defense. Sinceit's only preseason, Frank should experiment more with a small ball line to get a better feel for how effective it could be. I think they play the Celtics on Tuesday and if Kidd is back by then and the Celtics play their regular lineup, the Nets should try a lineup with Nachbar or Wrightand put Collins or Magloire on Garnett and either Jefferson, Carter or Nachbar or Perkins to see if the Nets can have success with this.</p>

The Celtics are the wrong team to attempt that against, especially with Magloire against KG.</p>

That's why I want them to try it against the Celtics. KG is a mobile, athleticall around type defender/offensive player and rebounder, passer. So in theory it seems like it might not be a good idea to try it agains a team like the Celtics. But what if it ends up working and the Nets have succcess with it? What if they try some pressure defense trying to pick up the pace of the game. It would also be interesting to see if the Celtics go away from their Big 3 on offense trying to feed the ball to Perkins who would be guarded by a smaller player and if he would have success with it.</p>

But Iguess thinking about it some more, the Celtics just might put Garnett at the5 and putPosey into into the game to match up.</p>

Throw Malik in. You all saw what Mikki did vs. Garnett, if Malik is being guarded by him, he's got the jumper for him all night.</p>
