Away/Home

The Nets, who have finally captured the 8th spot in the east over the Orlando Magic, will try to continue their momentum and expand their winning streak to 3 games tonight against one of the east's elite teams, the Washington Wizards.

New Jersey are finally looking like they can make a run and accomplish something this season. Vince Carter and Jason Kidd seem more loose, probably because the trade deadline has passed. VC is finally attacking the basket, getting to the line and playing like everyone knows he can: fantasticaly. Meanwhile, J-Kidd, who has been the Nets' anchor all season long, is playing with a cracked rib but continues to dominate on the court, with 9 triple doubles this season, by far the most in the league. The role players, especially Moore, Nachbar and Williams, are playing very well lately and are helpig the Dynamic Duo of Kidd and Carter out a lot. Are the Nets finally ready to start a long winning streak? We'll find out tonight, as they face a powerful team in the Wizards.

Washington, who have on of the best records in the east, will try to prevent a 3rd straight loss tonight. Gilbert Arenas hasn't seemed himself lately, and will face a tough challenge against Vince Carter. Caron Butler, another Wizards all-star, might not play tonight because of back spasms. The Wizards will also miss the excellent Antawn Jamison, who's out with a left knee sprain.

Keys to the Game:

-Defense. The Wizards thrive in a high-scoring game, so keeping them to 85-9 points will be perfect for the Nets.

-Control the tempo. When Jason Kidd has the game in his hands, good things happen. Especially when there is nobody on the Wizards who's good enough to guard him.

Prediction: Nets +6

Kidd had a monster 3rd quarter shooting. He just gave us a big lift, when we were slightly struggling from the field. With all the talk about him losing value, frankly I don't see it. He continues to play at a high level, even though he is 34.

Carter had another great game. Where was this before? I don't know, but I'm happy to see that he had finally woken up. We need him to continue playing at this superstar level.

And what can you say about Nachbar? The guy has been incredible coming off the bench. We need someone to fill RJ's shoes and so far he has done so. Keep it going Boki! We need you!

Kidd 26 pts 8 rebs 9 asts
Carter 27 pts 6 asts
Moore 5 pts 7 rebs
Nachbar 23 pts 6 rebs
House 12 pts
Robinson 12 pts

Damn! Jason Kidd is old, slow, cracked ribs, bad back, and his value has dropped. Another sub par performance with only 26 pts., 8 boards and 9 dimes. Tsk tsk tsk.. the critics are right again!
