This was mildly random, and sort of out of nowhere. I mean, we couldn't even get a 1st round pick outta this?

C'mooon</div>

I said it from day 1: Magloire is useless. He has lost any skill he had. He can't handle the ball, can't score, can't catch, can't move. The only thing he can do is rebound. He is a liability in every other facet of the game.

I was right about McInnis, I was right about Marc Jackson, I was right about Chris Childs, and now I am right about Magloire.

I know a mistake when I see one.

Your egotistical nonsense is getting tiring.

Oooh Burn...

Nice one Jizz...

I think everyone hated on Magloire way too much. The guy was doing a great job. Look at some of his games, 4 rebounds in 10 minutes. 7/7 in 15. 8/8 in 20. He was doing a great job. He'd post up numbers like these and then not play for like 8 games. It's bullshit. He should played much more than he did.

Other than Frank, I don't think anyone hated him. One game he gets to play, next 5 games he's buried at the end of the bench. It's impossible to catch rhythm that way. What was Coach Frank's excuse? Matchup problems? I love how he said "We're saving him for the playoffs." What good is he in the playoffs if he hasn't played consistently during the season? He'd be good for 6 fouls, and that's about it.

LOL

Though to be fair, Collins has scored more points, grabbed more boards for the Grizzles than Swift has for the Nets.

And we all know about Collins' lack of production.

hey Furnace, you were correct....i wanted to believe the hype, that the Nets knew what they were doing, not....but seriously, it might have worked except Magloire did not come into camp in shape....sure it was reported that he was working hard, but it was too late....i watched him up close in preseason vs Big Baby, he was totalling embarassed by BB, it was obvious then that this was not going to work....with all that wingspan, in Oct and Nov he couldn't get enough lift to get the ball over the rim from point blank range

As you've reminded me many times, at least thron didn't give he a player option for a second year

I may be missing something but I've always wondered why a lot of you call him "thron" instead of his actual name?

There was once a time where many posters would make trade demands via message board, hopeing that someone in the Nets front office would read it and make the move. The same people who thought this idea was fruitful were the same people who misspelled his name 'Thron' and it stuck.

I've seen postes writing Rod Thron so much I actually thought I had his name wrong.

Brilliant move by Thron.

yup , Toronto just rejected him, rumor is he might end up in Boston w/ Flip Murray but I don't even see Boston signing him.

Boston is rumored to get everyone once they are waived or on the trading blocks.

Boston might want to consider it though...Given there performance so far on the West Coast trip it's pretty obvious they need another big body. Mags is obiously healthy and rested, would be cheap, and with a chip on his shoulder could be and excellent short term option.

There is what you call Celtic Pride. They're tops in the league right now and they will have to swallow their pride to pick up a benchwarmer of a sub-.500 team that is still in the playoffs hunt.
