Yeah but you still had plenty of favorable matchups like Brain Scalibrine trying to guard Corliss Williamson in the post. And you still had offensive weapons like Prince & Billups on the floor thru the OTs. They just didnt produce enuff to win.
</div>
Yes guys like Billups and Prince where out there but by that time Billups was clearly tied and didn't have much energy left. He played a very stupid game to be honest, he cost Detroit the game in that 4th quarter with stupid shot after stupid shot. He tied the game but his shot selection was very poor.
Prince actually had a decent game but again not really an offensive weapon yet. His game is mainly defense and rebounding the ball he isn't known for scoring a bunch of points, he can do it but he just isn't consistant enough. He has alot to work on.
If anyone should of been in the game It was Okur backing down Scalibrine, Williamson is the type of player people hate because of his useless turnovers and lack of abilty to score consistantly. His job is to score but when his team needs It most, he fails.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">RJ is the reason the Nets won that game he either scored, or got to the free throw line, or created shot for someone else just about everytime he had the ball in those overtimes.
And if the Nets could have hit free throws their wouldnt have been a 1st OT nor a 2nd, so the Pistons should consider themselves lucky. The Nets let the door open for them to stay in that game.
</div>
You could say the same about Billups, If it wasn't for his stupid shots and plays then the Pistons would of won the game in that 4th quarter when the game should of been over. Up 4 with not limited time left, he must of took at least 5 terrible shots which gave NJ the chance to comeback and win fortunely for Billups NJ choked at the line.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Its not an excuse, its the truth, RJ was clearly less explosive due to fatigue, down the stretch of the game the Pistons have nobody who can stay with him going to the basket but he kept settling for jumpers on sunday.
The Nets didnt really make alot of fg% in either half of that game on sunday. They just kept getting to the line, they scored 20 of their 75pts from the free throw line.
And another point that proves RJ was tried in the 4th was that fact that RJ was 8-8 from the line thru the 1st 3quarters. Yet he only attempted 2 free throws in the 4th, which shows he stop going toward the basket. When RJ is fresh going to the basket against the Pistons' he either scores or gets to the free throw line just about everytime.
</div>
One could easily make the case the Pistons lost the lead purely down to lack of legs in their jump shots. Jefferson is not the only guy who played alot of minutes in game 5 and therefore were not as quick on sunday. Billups, Prince, Sheed and Ben all played huge minutes two nights before which one could say easily effected their play in the 2nd half of that game. So It reallt works both ways.Just maybe It was the fact the Pistons were the better team in game 6?
The main reason Pistons won was they dominated the boards, when that happens NJ struggle but there were alot of bad turnovers by the Pistons in that 4th quarter which led to easy fastbreak buckets for the Nets
If the Pistons don't do a better job of cutting that down in the 4th quarter of game 7 then the Nets will win the game and the series, It's pretty simple.
