I think he's a great fit for the Nets in the 2nd Round, he's a little undersized at 6'9, but Roberts has a 'nose for the ball' and is a great outlet passer. He's not afraid to bang inside, I would group him with the Antonio Davis type players in the league.

I agree Shape, I know he really didnt live up to his full capablities last year due to that injury at the start of the year. But I think that he could be effective right away for us...maybe not a dominate scorer. But like you said a guy that just knows how to hunt down the basketball whether it be off the backboards, loose balls. And may block a shot or two. I think it is much smarter to take big bodies with both our picks, instead of using our 2nd pick on a guy like Travis Diener, cause perimeter guys year after year whether it be draft, free anecy etc...are always there. We need to take advantage of our chance to get frontcourt guys.

well between working out roberts and deiner, the nets seem to have a solid plan for their draft: to get 4 year guys who can contribute immediately. who do you guys think the nets will go for in the 1st round? i'm thinking channing frye, sean may, charlie villanueva (maybe) or johan petro

it seems like they should keep stocking up on young bigs to go with their all-star backcourt.

i think that may is a bit overated because of his tourney performance id go with Frye. I think Roberts is gonna be a good player. He could be a steal for us.

i think that roberts is going to be a solid rotation man and is definetely worthy of a mid second round pick. He was great at Mississippi State, and he played in one of the most physical conferences there are. Look for Nate Robinson to also be a 2nd round steal

Robinson is a good player but i dont see the nets going with a pg wen they need a big guy who could play the 4 or 5 position.

The Nets have too many options with small people (Vaughn, Best, Mercer, Buford) to need to think about drafting small people in my opinion. I would prefer that they get as many big guys as possible, even if a log-jam is created. I much rather prefer depth that competition for roster spots, rather than a freak injury occurring that dispells the Nets chances.

I think it is a bit un-fair to continue to put Vincent's past with his current. He is looking to New Jersey as a fresh start. And whether he faked injuries or didnt play hard in Toronto its time to move on. Until he shows signs of that in Jersey, I see know resean why not to plan our season around having a healthy & energized Vince Carter, which means no need to draft perimeter players when our rotation at the 1-2-3 positions are already pretty solid, except the need to add a cheap veteran shooter, in fA. The draft needs to be focused on gaining some big youthful bodies. Cliff Robinson and Jabari Smith as our frontcourt bench depth just wont cut it next season.
