NTM- I've always raised my Sons, my Nephews, hell as much to anyone who will listen. Including having to counsel some borderline employees, during a termination screening, to execute or halt fire:

Have to admit Matt, that is a profound statement.
But where do personal insights, explainations and opinions fall into the equation?

Like when someone gets apprehended for stealing bananas and bread to feed their kids because the individual has fallen through the cracks and hasn't been getting his/her rightful earned benefits.

I'm sure the lawyer AND Judge will consider other things besides "actions".

Easy to make those bottom line statements when you're behind the big desk, and maybe independently wealthy/financially secure in your nice little controlled environment.

Honestly when was the last time you sat in court to merely watch what is going on. Let me make it more than clear, Judges do NOT want to hear the many BS but valid excuses. Believe me on this one. I got off with a very minor traffic ticket, along with a failure to appear, for a very legit reason. Kim crashed our car into the backend of another at 12 pm. I had to be in court at 8am, and did not get home til 3 am. No one was available to give me a lift to the Courthouse.

The one thing my Deputy Brother drilled into my head over and over, non stop, was STOP, don't go there with your justification no matter how true, clear or legit it is. The Judge hears shit all day long, and HE too, looks primarily at one's Actions 1st and foremost. Your lucky if he even asks for any explanation, and any BS he smells, well theirs a couple of Bailiffs ready, with plenty of cuffs in all sizes and colors, take your pic.

Somewhere in b/t the fine cracks and sediment is where the truth falls, either you stole those bananas and milk to feed your starving kids, the Judge could give a rats ass, he's not there to tell you how to get those food stamps, you may not even qualify for....

Believe me, blg, when I say this, with no spite or remorse towards your quote, I hear ya', I agree with ya', yet from the Justice I have seen, spending days in the courthouse simply cuz I was bored shitless, after I retired, and I wanted to watch my Little Brother be a Bailiff in action for a week. The shit I saw blew my socks off. A judge can be the most generous person you may ever meet, or the worst nightmare you may ever have. Just trying to tell it like it is.

In Caly with its self-entitlement systems, could really care less, about the details, other than the facts, and actions point blank. Doesn't mean I like or agree with it, thats simply and at times sadly how it goes, Que sera sera...mon ami..!

Believe me on another thing, Retirement is NOT what anyone says its cracked up to be. I honestly have more work to do now than when I worked prior to retirement.....

Born in Yonkers, I was more than thrilled to call Bernie Tetsugen Glassman my mentor and friend. Bernie is a genius, who was the Vice President of Engineering on the DC=10 Airliner. He gave it all up, the big fat salaries, bonuses, and benefits, for a life on Skid Row in Ny, and a bought a bldg, to open the Greyston Bakery, (who supplies brownies to Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream). Bernie took his profit, while teaching mindfulness, or Zazen while working. He bought up one condemend housing project, after another, obtained permits, put vagrants to work, refurbishing these project bldgs, then gave any and everyone food. Any vagrant could get a job, a bit of cash, a lifetime apartment, upon completion of the units. The onto another unit to refurbish. Every vagrant who joined, still has free housing, food, and jobs for life.

Now go preach to the choir......

Do you not know or are in disbelief, that people who are starving have options like obtaining food stamps. I did not put anyone down for having to draw food stamps. Sure it seems like the majority of self entitled persons, abusing a system; screw it up for those who truly need the food stamps. Have you ever known anyone who lost their job, do to contracts ending, and they cannot find work, maybe only burger flipping, or may be disabled enough to not even be able to flip burgers.

There are a lot of programs for anyone in need. I have given shelter to many, so WTF are you doing, trying with a futile tongue and mind???? I have helped build some of these programs, noted in the URL links.

the last person you should be giving shit to is me. I have lived and seen both sides. I myself, went from a nice 6 figure salary in the early late 80s, to 6 figure salaries, with a few 5 and 6 figure bonuses, also, which I gave most of to help fund programs you will never know about. Abused Women and Childrens Shelters, Homeless Shelters, Childrens Aids Hospices, Skid Row living, try it for a week, tell me how good you feel when you've done as much....'

I'm not blowing my horn, but at times, I feel like an old Man, who is doing my damndest to create a more harmonious world, while being ridiculed by you.....your Karma beware of, unless all this is simple rhetoric or debate, in fun or jest.
