New Jersey Nets vs. Toronto Raptors
(1-0) vs. (1-0)

Kidd is still on top of his game. Look for him to defer even more of his
shots for passes. Watch him on defense too: he had five steals in the last game.

vince_carter.jpg

Carter is no long the go-to guy. He is now a major piece of the Nets' princeton
offense. Look for him get more open looks and make more open looks for his
team-mates.

richard_jefferson.jpg

Richard Jefferson really thrives in the princeton offense. Look for him to
be as or more effective than Carter. Also watch his high efficiency.

jason_collins.jpg

Jason Collins did not open the season well. He has yet to attempt a shot.
The Nets are very lucky to have player they can sub in for Collins if he
is not on his game.

nenad_krstic.jpg

Not many people thought Krstic would play in the first few games. He has
mostly recovered from off-season knee surgery and should improve every game.
Watch out for his high offensive efficiency, especially in the princton offense.

tj_ford.jpg

TJ Ford has started the season out strong. In the first game of the season he
has a double-double with 12 assists and 14 points. He even recorded a block. Lets
see if he can compete with Kidd.

anthony_parker.jpg

Anthony Parker has not lost a step since his break out season last year. It will
be difficult for him to guard Carter.

jason_kapono.jpg

Like Parker, Kopono will has trouble defending Jefferson.

chris_bosh.jpg

Still young, still improving. Whoever has to defend him will have to be on
his toes. Chris Bosh will find any oppurtunity to use his athletism on offense
and defense.

andrea_bargnani.jpg

Bargnani had an excellent start to the season. Lets see if he can do damage against
the Nets' big men.

X-factors: The X-factors in this game for the Nets will be Nachbar. It is likely that the Nets'
starters will have no trouble matching the output of the Toronto starters. If Nachbar propels
the bench's effort, the Nets will have an easier time winning. For the Raptors, the X-factor is
TJ Ford. If Ford can outplay Kidd defensivly and offensively, the Raptors should be in control.

Player to Watch: Antoine Wright. Was his first game of the season a fluke? We'll find out if
it was based on his performance tonight.

Collins has to stick with CB4, and let him be frustrated.</p>

Krstic you must teach Bargnani alesson, now your shooting range is longer, you are not going to be in inferiority.</p>

I have tickets three rows behind Jay-Z's seats for tonights game. I'll post pics later on tonight.</p>

I wonder if we go to Kidd on the post up? Will we basically use our playoff strategies? Another big game from Wright?

I'm gonna miss the game tonight, so I hope they don't play Swat

Big game for both teams. It will be too early to tell which is the better one though.</p>

Nets 105 - 97 Raptors</p>

Kidd 14pts 6rbs 11assts</p>

Wont be able to watch the game today, not only is it being broadcast on RapsTV but ill be working all night long. Anyways as much as I want the Raptors to win I have a feeling that we'll lose a close one to the Nets, if the Raptors were at home than my pick would be for the Raps but for some reason we always play bad on the road and especially in NJ. Who knows maybe the Raptors will go out there and try to bury the Nets early getting their payback for last seasons' playoffs.</p>

I have class so I'll probably miss the 1st quarter.</p>

2-0 and baby!</p>

Would be amazing to start off 2 - 0 specailly being in Ontario haha. Go Krstic!</p>

hm. 15-18 nets woot.</p>

Delfino just sank a 3, and then a layup from the Raptors. 17-18 Nets. psshht</p>

Carter's taking stupid shots. But he's in the 15,000 point club.</p>

Nets lost a pretty good lead. Raps went on 10-3 run. 21-21.</p>

too many stupid turnovers.</p>

31-21, 10 point lead. Good game for the Raptors so far. Delfino and Calderon with very good games. Bargnani playing very well too. Bosh should soon break out and score some big points. 14-0 run. Toronto bench with a 17-2 out score.</p>

Damn it. Nesterovich is playing well all of a sudden.

Kidd factor:</p>

With Kidd, +7. Without Kidd, -17.</p>

Not good.</p>

Juan Dixon with a BIG 3! Good think I bought his jersey. Rasho just playing so well and the Raptors up 12.</p>

Calderon is playing very well and what a very good charge he took.</p>

It seems Frank wasn't paying attention during the preseason. You HAVE to have a playmaker like Kidd or Carter out there with the bench players or the offense will stall badly. Sure enough, start the 2nd quarter with no playmaker and the struggle to score and the momentum shifts to the Raptors.</p>

Wow, Dixon is playing some solid basketball. What a great overall team effort. Good play for Delfino who is really showing off his skills. I hope Parker and Kapono can get it going very soon.</p>

The Raptors need to defend Jefferson. He already has 20 points, which is showing our SF have not done a good job.</p>

If the Nets can get to single digits before the half it would be a big momentum shifter.</p>

Sounds crazy but let Rj handle the offense. I haven't seen the whole game but Kidd and Carter are letting me down.</p>

And in typical Nets-fan fashion, we go from ECF locks to drafting OJ Mayo in 24 hours. Nice guys!</p>

haha "momma said there'd be nights like this"</p>

This reminds me of game 1 of the playoffs last year; where we were playing like crap, Jefferson stepped, oh! and we won the game.</p>

OMG
sad.gif
...midcourt shot by Bosh...the Raptors are getting so lucky right now.

Damn.. Kidd, what were you doing...</p>

I thought Bosh might make that shot.. then it's in for sure.</p>

DAMN IT ! NEW JERSEY IS SLEEPING TONIGHT.</p>
