Maybe they didn't know this, but karate is from JAPAN. Not China. Mr. Miagi was JAPANESE. Not Chinese. Normally this wouldn't matter, but the name of the fucking movie is THE KARATE KID.

Fucking Hollywood. Why couldn't they find a young, ugly, Italian kid and some unknown Japanese old man? Is it really that hard? I guess I forgot that they are on a binge, taking all the things from my childhood and slowly but surely destroying all of it.

I heard early on that it'd be called The Kung Fu Kid, but that title must not have tested well or something. THE KARATE KID just has too high a brand recognition not to be used. I wish I could know how much more money they'll make by using it even though it's lames as shit to do so.

I can't believe they are remaking Karate Kid. Why not just call it something completely different?

I've already seen early screenings of the Karate Kid and it is just awful. The first one, while not very good itself, was a cult classic. Probably because the cheesiness rating is through the roof which makes it lovable.

The key to the original was Mr. Miagi. Dude was a pimp. He was the best part of that movie, and the fact that they are replacing him with Jackie Chan says it all. Fucking terrible.

it looks like that movie could have potential. But then they started filming it.
