The ignore functionality is there for a reason: to allow posters to ignore other posters.

They can ignore other posters because they are bad spellers, or because they're racist, or because they're unreasonable, or just because they don't like the user's name. They can ignore other posters for any reason.

Just because he (like some other people) have decided to place you on ignore you does not make him ineligible for moderator status. Sorry if you disagree.

Actually BW you have to remember what we're voting for. This is for a Mod job we're talking about. Clearly the person with the fewest votes get the position.
