New MW2 Maps on March 30th

got it on a text from my cousin. And video game sites are blocked at work. Says 2 remakes from COD 4 and 3 new ones. Anyone have any info they can provide?
 
This is crap. Pure and simple crap. Modern Warfare 2’s upcoming map pack is going to cost $15 freaking dollars. $15! For five maps! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?

DLC’s have recently been touted as the future of video games. Developers like them because they can keep adding fresh content to games and the fat cats like them because they bring in more slush money. It’s a win win.

It’s even a win for gamers most of the time because they often share the same feelings as the developers. DLC at least in theory increase the replay value of a game. That’s great and normally these packs are available for around $5 or $10 dollars.

Borderlands is currently on its third DLC with The Secret Armoy of General Knoxx. For $10 players get the chance to beef up their characters an extra 11 levels to 61, drive more vehicles and collect a host of new guns to conquer the new missions. That’s worth $10.

Then there’s the new Modern Warfare 2 map pack. It will costs $15 and comes with five multiplayer maps, two that are recycled from previous games. Of course the fun part here is that online players will likely be forced to purchase the map pack if their favorite game server or buddies upgrade. There might also be new guns, but that’s not the point.

A $15 DLC should come with more than just five multiplayer maps. And if Activision only has five new maps available, then the packs should cost less. This is just clearly another example of Activision gouging gamers. Hopefully other game publishers are taking notes, not of Activision’s tactics, but rather of gamer’s reactions.

interesting. but I guess thats the price we pay now because people started buying those "special edition" games back at the tail end of the first Xbox days.
 
I'd be freaking cool if they released some classic maps from MW1 for MW2.

Like Chinatown and overgrown!
 
I have since moved on to Battlefield Bad company. I really don't get what folks think is all that great about MW2 anyhow. How many wars do you know of where no vehicles are involved? How many folks do you know that can run really fast because they have a knife in their hand? How many folks do you know that can just hit a button and fire off a perfect shot without aiming(cheaters)?

I am very tempted to get BF2.

But COD failed so bad on their tanks and crap when they tried it on WAW. The things are ridiculously indestructible in that game. So unless they changed the beefiness. I'm glad they didnt include them in this one.

gotcha. For some reason I am going through like 2 hour phases lately. I have played MW2. Fifa, NBA 2k10. Fallout 3. Hell I even played Lego Star Wars and Oblivion the other day! lol
 
I have also gone to BC2. It's not like I played MW2 much, anyway.
 
So I could spend $15 in a week or just get a new game for 60.. is it really that much better guys?
 
Those two MW1 maps (Overgrown, Crash) with MW2 weapons and air strikes I think it'll be fun.

yeah I was a big fan of Crash back in the day. Overgrown I either did really good or sucked really bad at lol.
 
Man i bought FF13 and God of War 3 and then pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption, i think i've blown my gaming budget until the fall.
 
It's hard to switch back and forth between MW2 and BBC2 cause the game speed and feel is so different. I love that the maps are bigger on BBC2, but I hate spawning clear on the other side of the map away from the action, so annoying.

Can't wait til the NBA 2k10 patch for Steam comes out, been waiting for that shit since fucking November.
 
FF7 was pretty sweet.
 
I got BFBC2 for PS3 and so far I'm not impressed, but I'm not really a console guy. I probably should have gotten it for PC. I just really don't like FPS games on console.

There has been a patch on the way for NBA 2k10 since shortly after the game came out, to fix a bunch of glitches and game play issues. The 360, PS3 and PC retail version all have had a patch released (fucking finally), just waiting for the digital download (Steam) version.

I haven't really played it much cause I kept hearing over and over that the patch would be out soon.
