I recently read that our new owner saw a potential deal at the trade line and acted like he would’ve done it. If he pulls a Phoenix Suns ownership move and thinks he’s smarter than everybody else by getting somebody else’s aging superstar and trading away all of our draft choices, I’m going to be very disappointed. However, if he supports the direction of this franchise and build to the draft then we have a chance to be a team on the rise that nobody wants to play.
Please don’t mortgage our future by trying to act like you’re smarter than everybody else and trying to get a great team now. It never works, just look at Phoenix and New Jersey.

Just look at the LA Clippers when Balmer took over. Jerry West had that team set up for a great future by drafting SGA. They had other teams draft picks and were getting ready to launch. Then Kawai came over, and they traded everything for Paul George. The rest of history. OKC took their future.
Our new owner better not pull a clippers Balmer move. Sam Presti is the person I would be emulating.

I think he meant he would've been more aggressive than Jody or Burt (or Paul Allen) ever were not that he's given away the house just to make a trade.

much ado about nothing?

we don't know what the deal was or if it was anywhere close to being an actual trade negotiation. Might have just been GM's spitballing possibilities at each other

I'm not a Cronin fan but he did complete the Avdija trade. Trading Brogdon, a 14th pick, and one of three 2029 picks for a 23 year old player with lots of upside is not mortgaging the future to any significant degree. Trading Simons for the long-term contract of Jrue doesn't fit that either

It’s also possible that he’s a businessman and figures if he gets a superstar here he’ll sell more tickets. Build a team like San Antonio and OKC are doing. Build through the draft. How cool would it be to have three Milwaukee picks in a row? What if they suck a few years from now because their superstars have aged out

I agree with you on the Avdija trade. Getting a young star through a trade is the only way I would trade draft choices. I just don’t want an aging superstar with multiple calf strains for our future.

Would rather try than whatever the fuck the last 6 years have been.

That being said, Giannis would be a waste, and a joke of a trade.

bert kolde was reheated/stale/custodian stasis bad. this could be something else bad, or something else good.

it's something else!

Dundon doesn't have Ballmer's deep pockets. I think he'll be an armchair owner more than a guy who meddles much. He might instigate trades but he seems to use people for their expertise more than dominate them. After hearing him, I'm convinced he doesn't think he knows it all but he thinks he has winning instincts which he might just have. I'm sure not capable of buying a sports franchise. Dundon made his fortune instead of inheriting it. I like that part of him. I also like his confidence. He's not saying be patient, he's saying we're not waiting anymore.

this topic is already being discussed in the thread not far down about Tom's press conference. MERGE ALERT

Yeah, that comment gave me a really bad feeling.

I see you had the same college experience I did
Y'all should have chosen to attend an all-girls college like I did.
