To reshape the Liberty after last year's 13-21 season, coach Anne Donovan said she needed a player who would come out swinging when the team was down.
Sunday, Donovan found out she now has two such players. Cappie Pondexter sparked the Liberty as it fought back and Taj McWilliams-Franklin finished off the Chicago Sky in a season-opening 85-82 win at the Garden.
