I prefer the Pacer because of that living in a glass house look.

...yup, the Pacer was another odd car by American Motors.

...I had a 1970 Javelin AMX. Very light and scary fast. The company was struggling to stay afloat back then and by that time they were using other companies' components. My AMX came from the factory with a Ford 390 engine...and a Chrysler transmission. (pistol grip shifter)(I think it was the same tranny set up as the Barracuda)

My 1st car was a 1966 Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors. I loved that car. It was a gas eater though, it cost me around $12.00 to fill it up.

...I swear I can remember the "gas wars" in Florida when I was a kid....I vividly recall gas being $.22 per gallon.

I recall .50 cent gas because I remember dad saying one time...down to my last dollar, just enough for a gasllon of gas and a pack of smokes.

And I've lived to see $5/gallon (premium). Fortunately that is back to $3.29......

...down to $2.75 a gallon down here in...ahem...Arkansas

ahhhhhh remember the price control period '73 - '81... made some good money off that!

Gas up here has dropped quit a bit these last couple months to $3.29 for Regular, 3.49 for Premium.

I too recall the days of 22 cents per gallon gas. Back then I rode a Yamaha 100cc Twin Street Bike. It took only 2 gallons, and I got 115 miles per gallon. I put gas in it about once a month.

One thing about gas which blew me away, was in 99 I flew back here to see my Dad who had a heart attack. I filled up my Van at .88 cents a gallon in Lake Charles. When I landed in So, Cal, gas was $2.59 a gallon.

But then 30% of all American Refineries run from the Gulf, or from Alabama to Houston,....thus cheap gas,.
