Yanks take 2-0 lead as Stanton launches one 455 feet!
I’m arguing with my buddy about the Ohtani thing. It’s beyond stupid. In order to trade for Ohtani the Yankees will have to give up a TON of top prospects for a guy who currently can’t pitch because he’s hurt and bats DH, meanwhile we can just sign him as a free agent in the offseason. Trading for Ohtani is something you do if you’re in a win now, one piece away type of mode which this team CLEARLY isn’t. If we are going to trade prospects then it needs to be in order to get rid of Stanton. That’s the only way it is acceptable for this franchise in its current state to trade away young players. Other than that, trade Gleyber, Rizzo, DJ and just go with the youth like I’ve been saying for months now.The Yankees don't need to be trading for Ohtani. They need to face reality and rebuild. Rizzo hasn't homered in nearly 40 games and has a handful of RBIs in that span. Gleyber is never going to br more than a streaky .250/.260 hitter. DJ smacks some singles here and there but otherwise is a shell of himself at the plate. You have IKF or recycled retreads playing left field. Stanton is pretty much homer or nothing. Boone and Cashman need to go and the farm should be rebuilt as well as the team.
