Next 10 games are brutal

6-4 would make us 15-6 after 21 games. That's on pace to win 59 games - something this franchise has only done 3 times in 43 years. How could anyone not be happy with that start?
BNM

Dammit! Will somebody rep this for me??

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Boob-No-More again.

We'll have a tough time with Chicago since it's our first game back from a road trip. Those are always danger spots.

Milwaukee is 2-7 and has lost 5 games in a row. How is that a "brutal" game for the Blazers??

W 1.) Milwaukee on the road
T 2.) Chicago at home
L 3.) golden state on the road (b2b)
W 4.) New York at home
W 5.) Phoenix on the road
T 6.) Lakers on the road
T 7.) Indiana at home (b2b)
T 8.) OKC at home
W 9.) Utah at home
W 10.) Dallas at home (b2b)

I think we should win 5 lose 1 with 4 toss ups so that’s 7-3. Could easily be 5-5 or if we get real hot 9-1. If we go 4-6 that will be disappointing, teams are tired from the long flights and late start times out here so we have a big home court advantage. The tough teams are at home and lesser opponents on the road.

This is not one of our most difficult stretches, yes there are some solid teams but we need to at least break even on these stretches if we are to be a solid playoff team.

We will have some brutal stretches later in the year; four games in 5 nights on the road Jan17th @SAS, @DAL(b2b), @HOU, @OKC(b2b). On March 7th we play a 5 game trip @DAL, @HOU, @MEM, @SAS(b2b), @NOH. Those trips will be brutal and we could easily go 1-8 with no reason to be alarmed. Stretches like we have over the next 10 games are important to pad a few wins.

It's not well done though. I've seen it before. Inflate your "expectations" only to bitch about being right about not being a believer yet...

It's shameful really...

I was being sarcastic. lol.

Why does Chicago have a damn good chance at beating us? Because they have won 5 straight? Guess what, we have won 7 straight and Chicago is 1-3 on the road this season. It's not like they have dominated us 58-54 all time.

It's about how they are doing now. 5 straight is all of a sudden horrible? Man, 2 games ago when we won our 5th in a row we were TERRIBLE. Blow it up!

Shameful that I don't think Chicago, OKC, Indiana or GS "SHOULD" beat us?

Shameful that I don't think Milwaukee, NY, Phoenix, LAL, Dallas, Utah are lesser competition than what we have seen from our team so far?

This should be fun

Like lillards been saying all season, why not get greedy and win another? 80-2 baby

I think Chicago will be on a back to back with us after an ESPN game.....the Bulls won't get to their hotel in Portland tip 2:30AM, gotta' love that. And you guys just know that Kobe will make his return against us, right?

I say we go 7-3. Pretty optimistic on my part, but I think it can happen.

Keep Kobe out of your mouth!!!!

So MM, if I understand your position correctly, you think the Blazers are the 2nd best team in the league based on their record and that is why they really should beat any team at home and at least get a 7-3 record with that 10 game schedule.

I do like your new found faith in the Blazer team although I think you have shifted too far over and are now over rating them. They aren't as good as you think they are . . . but they are close. :)

Allow me to go reverse MM on this:

1.) Milwaukee on the road (Last game of a road trip, already complacent from 3 wins. Trap game--loss)
2.) Chicago at home (First game back after EC roadie, plus Chicago's super-hot. Loss)
3.) golden state on the road (b2b) (We NEVER win there, not changing now. Loss)
4.) New York at home (NBA needs NY to be respectable. Playing 8 on 5 here. Loss)
5.) Phoenix on the road (Already lost here once, and barely scraped by them at home. Loss)
6.) Lakers on the road (League won't let Kobe lose in his return. Loss)
7.) Indiana at home (b2b) (Best team in the league. We have no chance.)
8.) OKC at home (Best team in the conference [record notwithstanding]. No chance.)
9.) Utah at home (No excuse for not winning this game)
10.) Dallas at home (b2b) (Probably ought to win this one too)

I wouldn't be surprised if we go 2-8 in this stretch. I'll be thrilled if we're lucky enough to go 5-5.

I think the Blazers are one of the best teams in the league RIGHT NOW. I never said they should beat certain teams at home, I questioned why some thought they wouldn't or would have trouble beating certain teams at home RIGHT NOW.

That seems like a fine lien there Mr. Man . . . but I am glad you are on a different track with the Blazers and no longer think they are stuck in mediocrity.

An eight game losing streak and this whole board would turn bi-polar

I think they are stuck in mediocrity. I think by the end of the season they will probably be around the 7-8 seed. RIGHT NOW though, they are playing great basketball and their 3 pt shot is going in at a very high %
