Next Batman film starts shooting in 2010

Gary Oldman (Commish. Gordon) told fans at ComicCon that the film starts shooting next year. No word on the script, possible enemies, and if Nolan is directing yet (seems extremely likely that he will). Good!

The Dark Knight was a really flawed movie technically. I don't think he'll be able to top the experience though as few characters are as deep and fascinating as the Joker and as I've heard many say it was basically "The Joker Movie featuring Christian Bale as Batman". Plus Ledger was brilliant and the hype around his death made it that much better. Batman Begins was really good too though.

Miley Cyrus to Play Batgirl in Dark Knight Sequel?

Here’s some movie buzz we weren’t expecting! Rumor has it Miley Cyrus is being courted to play a role in the upcoming sequel to The Dark Knight.

Apparently Miley is being considered for the role of Batgirl, starring opposite Christian Bale! Talk about a step up from Hannah Montana! The Globe’s Loosch Lips column broke the news, saying Miley recently “stunned” producers at Warner Brothers in a full batsuit trying to pitch herself.

The insider says, “She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself. The problem is, some people aren’t really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it of.”

We smell bulls**t on this one. We think Miley is definitely ready to move on from her tween projects, but The Dark Knight franchise seems a little grown up for her. Plus, we highly doubt Miley’s mom, who is her manager, would allow her to show up to Warner Brothers in a batsuit!

Hush seems like a good choice but maybe too obscure for the mainstream.
