Appears to me he was brought in to tank. Why else would they keep Kobe around to take others development minutes?
Farewell Tour? Honestly the Lakers tried their damndest do put together a team with vets and it is hilarious to watch them fail. Idk if they will he bad enough by seasons end to get a top 3 pick though.

My money's on Byron Scott. And sooner rather than later.

Kupchak would need to fire himself first. What a mismatched mess he's created for Scott to try to coach. Either go with the youth movement, trade the older guys for picks, and accept the losses, or trade off some of the young talent and bring in more vets to try to win now.

A GM blame himself? That would certainly be refreshing.

I agree on Byron. The LA media is roasting him for not playing Russell late in games. Sounds like BS was forced to changed his philosophy on that last night. Personally I think it is a long season and there was plenty of time for DR to play late in games. It's not like he wasn't getting minutes. But no doubt that BS will be the scapegoat.

The LA media should be roasting Kobe for taking as many shots as he does.

Well, ownership may come to the realization that this is a screwed up mess at some point. OTOH, they're losing at a high enough rate that having a good shot at the number 1 draft pick is realistic, so maybe the plan is just to ride out the year and wait for Kobe's exit before committing to the youth movement. If I were a Laker fan, I'd probably care. As it is, I hope things go as badly as possible for them.

I think Casey in Toronto is probably on the hot seat but I think Scott should be fired first...Houston's interim coach will be in the mix if they upgrade

I got Jason Kidd as my darkhorse candidate.

He is the opposite of Mike D'Antoni. Teams hire the opposite of their last coach.

If the Lakers do tank, get lucky in the lottery and keep their 2016 pick their 2019 pick becomes completely unprotected which Orlando gets from the Dwight Howard trade. After Brooklyn the Lakers have potentially the worst position of not owning high lottery picks in multiple future seasons.

In my opinion they are underachieving. If they end up anywhere near .500 he should be fired.
Maybe, lot of season left. They need to find a way to utilize Parker, such a huge talent seems to be wasting (although it hasn't been a year since his knee injury). Idk, the Bucks seem like they all have similar skill sets but no real "guy" they remind me of the post T-Mac/pre-Harden Rockets.

Naa disagree on that one. Losing Brandon Knight was a huge problem; they have no court spacing. Jared Dudley and Zaza were very valuable contributors last year given away for nothing. The East is much improved as a conference. The Bucks are dealing with some injuries.

They have very intriguing young talent but many experts picked them as a team likely to take a step back this season. Their future is still bright. Kidd lead this team to the playoffs last year. If anything he's become a victim of his own success, since he did well now everyone expects more from his team.

I guess you could say losing Knight is Kidd's fault; which I partly agree with. No coach should have GM duties IMO. Doc Rivers and Stan Van Gundy have also made some terrible moves. Just a poor track record of this. Same in the NFL. They are two very difficult time consuming jobs. There are also times a GM needs to have a long term outlook while a coach needs to do everything to win immediately and those have to be balanced by different individuals. I blame the Bucks management for giving Kidd such authority.

Kobe should retire, he looks awful out there

He's cringe-worthy when he shoots! At one point in like mid third quarter he had put up 18, count em 18 shots I couldnt believe it, and he was 6/18 shooting. I know we're all supposed to hate the L*kers but it still is sad to see one of the greats go out like this. No matter your feelings the guy is a top-10 player all-time and what they're doing is just shameful he's hurting the team and his legacy going down this path. I just cant tell if it is Scott's incompetence or Kobe's stubbornness but it is a shame upon the organization the send off they are giving him.

It doesn't make sense to me.... I get that you lose your athleticism as you age, so the dunks and the quickness and the drives are gone, but why would his shot abandon him so badly? That doesn't make sense to me. His arm strength and mechanics should still be fine.

tearing the achilles THEN your rotator cuff say goodbye to your shot. He has NO lift and cant push his fade-aways to the basket anymore. If you watch all his shots are short, he's not missing left and right which would be mechanics he just cant get the ball there anymore.
