If we renounce someone's rights can we still sign them afterwards?
It would sure be nice to see a big jump from CJ or Barton to make Wes more expendable.

Isn't Brook Lopez a free agent next year? Getting the Lopez brothers to team up would be pretty cool and would be an incentive for Robin to re-sign too. Would be expensive and scary prospect with his foot problems though.

You can, but under the same rules as any free agent--no Bird rights, so you can't exceed the salary cap to sign them.

I'd love for the blazers to go after M. Gasol, but it would be foolhardy to focus on a specific player, because you run the risk of being jilted like the Rockets were with Bosh.
