How about - no more Ryan, Whitley, Kelly, Capuano, get a RF somewhere who has some pop, find a lefty reliever with a sharp breaking ball for the bullpen, use Phelps as trade bait, promote some farmhand with a good arm for Kelly's spot and....

.....put Tex in the 6th or 7th hole of the lineup AND LEAVE HIM THERE until he turns it around over a prolonged period?

The worst part of this year is that the other teams in the playoff race suck. They cannot win a game and the Yankees would've gained a game today.. All the Yankees had to do was score some runs in a handful of these games. Of course today we get piece of shit .216 excuse making Tex taking himself out of the game. He's the poster boy for this lineup sucking.

So true on Tex and of course the lack of scoring-
Just take this past road trip for example, they scored 9 runs in 7 games.
A couple of more runs in a couple/few of those games and the Yankees would be VERY MUCH alive and close to the last WC spot coming into this final homestand and final three at Fenway.

The 9 runs the Yankees scored in those last 7 road games are the lowest amount of runs the team has scored on ANY road trip of 5 or more games in their HISTORY!
