Fwiw, he got hurt again this year in a crucial stretch and missed time in the playoffs. Directly led to yet another first round loss.
Love Nic, but buyer beware.
Didn't they play better without him? I didn't watch any of the games but I thought I heard they won when he was out.
Chandy?Nic's FA status and his improved play this year is good for us. While other teams are lining up to throw away their money, we can steal someone else that's under the radar. Well played Neil Olshey. Send a guy in the last year of his deal to a situation where he'll flourish as a smoke screen that will allow you to sneak in a nab the player you REALLY want.

Parsons made it seem like he's going back to Dallas, but even if he wasn't that injury history scares me and he doesn't seem like a good enough defensive player to put around Dame and CJ.
Just looked it up, your right. Charlotte did win most of their games without Batum. The few games they lost without him they probably would have lost anyway (Warriors & OKC come to mind).
Neil is gonna pounce on that undervalued, under the radar Durant fella.
Another Nic alternative for us who will be a FA next summer (prolly available in trade this year): Gallo. He averaged 8 FTs/ gm this past season, and was still plagued with minor injuries again.
Ugh.
Two way players please. We have way too many one way players.
I wonder if Deng would be open to signing here at a reasonable price. He's kind of the player we need.Ugh.

It's about availability, man. We're not getting Jimmy Butler/PG/ Giannis/Iggy. How many wing defenders can score off the dribble, shoot, and put up a consistent 15-18 a game? If we can't get one of these true two way players, we gotta just build with what we have and fill in those defensive needs at PF and C.
Besides, I think Parsons and Gallo are comparable defenders to Nic. Prolly better in some aspects.
Barnes maybe?

He's older but he would be a great vet to have.

Rather just keep the two that we have: Harkless and Aminu. Both are better defensive players than Gallo or Parsons.
I also like Crabbe at the 3. There aren't too many SFs that can actually take advantage of his soft frame, and the two players that can do it the best are in the east (LeBron and Melo). You lose a lot of defensive rebounding though, so it would be nice to have a dominant rebounding PF/C pair if you are gonna start Crabbe.
I know. Was saying this year's issues were sorta minor.Minor injuries? He's missed 134 games in the last three seasons. He's only had one reasonably healthy season in the last seven years. No thanks.

For me, power forward is the position I want to target. I think there are options out there at PF so we can plug a reasonable player into the starting lineup while we develop Vonleh.
