I love this part of the editorial!

"I'm going to say it right now: Robin Lopez will become a Blazers fan favorite. Sure, there will be some who will criticize a play here and there, a game here and there, and his style of play here and there. On the other hand, many will embrace him for his style. I can only wonder if the organization will hold a Fropez Night where replica hair pieces are passed out in a similar fashion to the dreadlocks hairpieces which were handed out in honor of Brian Grant when he played for the Blazers."

Yeah he never posts my articles either!!!! I had a good piece on what type of condoms best suit an half Asian man.

It was very informative!

I keep forgetting to tell you to have TrueBlueFan post your stuff on the S2 Blazer Landing Page. There is stuff on there from 2010 and if you google Blazer forum that's where you're directed to. It was rather embarrassing.

On a serious note - I can't wait to see our team with a REAL bench. Man, its going to be weird not having a panic attack after the 6 minute mark in the first quarter and not dreading what is about to come.
 
My memory is a little fuzzy... wasn't Brian Grant also known as Side Show Bob for a while?

Fucking tell me about it. I can't remember how many times I threw my remote and screamed from such a lackluster bench.

I truly believe we will be soooooo much better now that we have a bench and at least a semi competent center that can protect the basket

I think Rolo (credit to whoever posted that first) is a better center than people give him credit for, and playing alongside an elite big in LMA will allow hiim to focus on D and rebounding.

I don't see how we could be worse, thats for sure. 3/5ths of our starting lineup played injured because we had no other option, which is truly pathetic. I'm really excited. I wonder what the rotation will look like (post all-star break - once everyone is acclimated blah blah).

Lillard - Wes - Batum - Aldridge - Lopez is a given, but this is wehre its tricky. Watson - McCollum - Wright - Robinson - Meyers or McCollum - Barton/Crabbe - Wright - Robinson - Meyers. Or, is there some insane way Meyers finds a way to earn the starting spot at some point? Its interesting to see what they will do with McCollum (PG or SG) and how that affects Barton/Crabbe.

Yep and in all seriousness; I just can't wait for the season to start. I think the product we put out is really gonna surprise the fuck out of people. It's gonna be sweet!

I would have agreed with you, but some of the national media has taken notice that we actually have depth this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were fighting for HCA area next year. But at the same time, I think that is best case scenario. I think Lillard is going to be very, very good. I'm excited to see what we have in store for McCollum. Eventual starting SG, or elite 6th man (hopefully). Can't wait.
 
Varejao is the one and only Side Show Bob.

I suppose Robin Lopez could be Side Show Rob.

The more that I think about it the more I am beginning to wonder if a lot of our success will hinge on how well CJ handles the rookie wall. To expect him to just blow through it like Lillard did is not going to be realistic. If he is a major player for us, likely off of our bench, then that could effect a lot of things. It will be interesting to see how that works out.

And, we also now have a LOT more flexibility in late game situations. I look forward to seeing how Stotts manages his lineups at the end of close games. Even without a bench, he was better at it last season than Nate (predictable, one-dimensional all ISO all the time) ever was. Now, he can run offensive/defensive substitutions - and I just don't mean Lopez on defense and Meyers on offense. In spite of the general consensus that Aldridge HATES to play center, he actually said he only wanted a big body, a true center, who can come in and bang down low for 20 - 25 minutes a night. So, in late game situations, bring Lopez in for defense and then surround Aldridge and Lillard with our 3 best shooters on offense. Double either of our stars and they kick it to the open shooter. Plus, because Lopez is a good FT shooter, he doesn't become a liability if you get caught in transition and can't sub him out. In addition to not losing leads every time we rest the starters, this new, deeper bench gives Stotts a lot more flexibility in late game situations.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised just how many more games this team will win this season because our bench went from a huge minus (worst in league history) to a positive. Imagine how good we will be if our bench can actually increase a lead rather than giving it away every time we rest more than one starter. Imagine the luxury of giving Lillard, Aldridge, Batum and Matthews an extra 3 or 4 minutes of rest every night knowing it's not going to cost you a win.
