yah well its a great article BUT all this young talent wont be kept together too long so it would be nice to start winning now and make the damn playoffs. im sick of hearing "in the future."

You should get a job in construction. I think it would give you a little better perspective on some things.

with the possible exception of outlaw none of our "young talent" is going anywhere for at least 4 1/2 more years. too bad the same is probably true of you.

See this IGNORE feature is great. Is see that a certain somebody has come on to this thread also and is trying to ruin it, but I didn't have to read the negative horse shit.

Mixum- the future is now. We have the 8th best record in the league and will only get better.

Does that work when someone quotes them? :)

I'm impossible to ignore that we're still the youngest team in the league. Get a grip.

He heaped high praise on your posting abilities. Too bad you missed it.

Coach Frank says.....BAKE IT!:

Frank said Portland Trail Blazers fans should be pleased with the direction that their team is headed. “They don’t have to do anything in terms of personnel moves, and you know they’re going to be really, really good,” he said.

"Don't have to" is different from "shouldn't." He's saying that Portland already has enough talent to be a really good team. I think most of us agree. That doesn't mean Pritchard should turn down opportunities to make the team even better.

2nd youngest, the Warriors hold that distinction

Youngest if you don't count Raef LaContract. He's not really a part of the team, just a financial asset basically. ;)

We ARE the youngest! Raef does NOT count!

Nice article - the detail about Jerryd getting a call from a former Phoenix Sun before the game was very telling. Jerryd is still a young guy, very inexperienced as a pro, yet talented as hell - and sometimes it can be helpful for someone from outside the organization (but with a legitimate pedigree) offers some encouragement.

he only counts if the NBA is doing the counting. Too bad they are the official keeper of such records or we might have something to really be excited about :rolleyes2:

But "records" aren't that important...a team doesn't get a trophy for being "youngest." The significance is how much upside and development a team has...and for that, it seems to make sense to only look at the players the team actually uses as part of the team. LaFrentz may as well be a coach or fan, since he doesn't play. If the team dropped Shavlik Randolph and picked up Kevin Willis for the rest of the season just to be a non-playing mentor to Oden, I wouldn't say that that makes the team older in any real way, even if the records reflected an increase in "average age."
