I was getting ready to rip the blazers for not just telling him to rest his shoulder over the whole summer but it looks like this is fake.

That depends on if you consider physicality. Mathews is a much more physical player than Rudy, and has had success guarding SF up to 6'9" tall (Carmello at that). Rudy doesn't have that record to run on.

I know this thread is bullshit but what the fuck does Batum being injured have to do with having a sandbagging defensive liability on the team?


I can only assume your recent decent into abject homerism is a response to the overall negative bent of the boards these days.
But seriously, Rudy wasn't very good last year and he sure as shit wouldn't make up for loosing Batum.
 
He's an outside threat that could spread the floor. Not every player can be good a defense, but can still help the team. Plus with Greg, Pryz, and Camby helpin' out, we'd be fine.
