No Bayless?

Actually, it's a Bayless thing.

He has to earn it, and he hasn't come close to doing that.

Nate said he is particularly lost in the team's defensive schemes, and hasn't been able to grasp their basic plays yet, where he should be on the court...

It's silly to have expected otherwise from a rookie with 1 year in college.

That's funny.

I think Nate knows a trade is brewing and wanted to give Sergio some final playing time before he leaves Portland.

God knows Bayless earned the backup minutes over Sergio after Blake went down.

Doubt it.

IMHO, there is no other logical reason that Sergio is on this team - let alone, taking minutes from Bayless!

Sergio sucks!

If I remember, even Paul Allen flew over to Spain to convince Rudy to come over....and you don't imagine that a promise was made (to keep Sergio for one year) so he could get used to NBA life, speaking only a small amount of English, etc.??

After tonight - with Bayless sitting the entire game - he's gone by noon tomorrow! Too bad, I liked Bayless and loved his leaping ability as well. Very explosive.

:drumroll: and now for the big trade! Bayless + Raef + picks for CP3 !

Well if THAT'S the trade, then I'm all for it.

I noticed this too. It has me wondering what is going on. If I remember correctly though didn't Bayless get 2nd half minutes before Blake went down with his shoulder injury? If Bayless doesn't get 2nd half minutes over Sergio then you could assume he is being discussed in a deal.

No you can't.

Nate announced ahead of time that he would be going back to the same rotation he'd used before Blakes injury. That is what he did. And that means Bayless sits.

Nate did say this many times. I just have no idea why he would put Bayless on the bench. Bayless has come in and made HUGE differences in games this year. Sergio, not so much. Tonight, in fact, he had a fair first half, then took a big dump in the second half.

Nate is FAR too enamored with his rotations. What ever happened to earning time? Near as I can tell, Sergio hasn't earned shit. The very best you can say for Sergio is that he and Bayless have played at roughly the same level. Except what Bayless brings to the table is what the team needs, while what Sergio brings the table no one wants.

Way off topic - and since we're all just sitting around here waiting for some news -

I was just watching highlights of the Cavs/Raptors game and realized - after watching Lebron...

he looks more like a football player than a basketball player out there. His body - much like a wide receiver or perhaps a tight end? But he just doesn't look the part!

Anyone else agree?

(don't get me wrong - he's one damn good football player!) :biglaugh:

Maybe because through trades the PG situation will probably resolve itself by tomorrow, and so there was no need for Nate to shake up the status quo for just one game?

I believe he was all-state high school football WR/TE if i'm not mistaken.

Also, AI was arguably the best HS recruit at QB coming out of HS incase anyone was interested. go youtube AI Football highlights. He looks like a non-dogfighting Michael Vick...

I agree with you, but Nate doesn't. In his interviews after games where bayless played seemingly well on offense when asked how he thought bayless did, he always goes back to how he is not playing the defensive schemes correctly. He said he often has to pull him out of games to tell him what he is doing wrong. Bayless is young, and should just stand ready on the bench for when Sergio turns the ball over a bunch...cause it will happen. That and he can prob play in the final minutes of blowouts.

God I would take Jarrett Jack over Sergio right now.

Apples to oranges... Jack is a below average SG, SergRod is a below avg PG. I'm not sure Indiana makes that trade, looking at how they have both performed this season... 38% shooting from Sergio=:smiley-puke:
