NY Post
October 19, 2005 -- With the Knicks and Antonio Davis failing to reach a contract settlement, the ex-Bull reported yesterday and took Allan Houston's locker.
In the final year of a contract paying $13.8 million, Davis said he will stick out the season; he brought his wife and kids from Chicago to check out housing and schools. "I expect to be here," Davis said.
Speculation remains, however, that Davis will eventually be bought out. Davis, 37, was concerned that the Knicks obtained him with an eye on dealing his expiring contract at the trade deadline. Davis has said he stayed in Chicago for 11 days to tend to his ailing mother-in-law. The Knicks began fining Davis Saturday, costing him $300,000.
Davis did not dress in last night's 114-99 preseason loss to the Sixers at the Garden.
"You trade for me, obviously, you wanted me, but what are your plans now?" Davis said. "Is the plan to keep me here? If that's so, I want to make sure to get my family situated."

Nothing like a $300,000 fine to get your mind right.
