can't get this team running with the running talent we have then it's time to go

Exactly. Roy was the person slowing down the tempo before. If Nate doesn't use the horses he's got in Felton, Aldridge and Wallace, then he needs to go.

Not gonna happen.

Brandon Roy was never a Seattle Supersonic, and yet Nate's teams were almost always one of the slowest-paced in the NBA.

Wait; Ridnour, Allen, Wilcox, Lewis, Evans and Potchenko (what ever the hell his name was) are not a running team. LA, Wallace, Felton, Matthews and Batum are...different circumstances, no?

A quick look at history shows that the speed at which a team plays is generally a function of the coach rather than the players. Either coach lets them run or he doesn't.

Nate may say he wants more speed but as long as he values ball control (read no turnovers) above anything else, his teams will continue to be the slowest (or nearly so) in the league. When you get punished for an errant pass because you were playing up-tempo, you decide not to play up-tempo in order to preserve your playing time.

That is a function of the coach, not the personnel.

Granted, we have the personnel to be a more up-tempo team but there again, it is dependent upon the coach to adjust his coaching style to suit the personnel; something again which Nate has shown little inclination to do.

Gramps...

I am not convinced that this team is built to score from running. Hopefully more than in the past. But of course not even close to a Phoenix or Goldenstate. Batum, Wallace Wes, Elliott and LMA can all finish, but none of them are great passers. or exceptional jump shooters off the dribble. It will have to be one pass and a basket

But yes they can run and attack the basket so that will be a positive.

Ridnour, Allen and Lewis are definitely all capable of playing up-tempo.

In any event, I look at Nate's career and while players have come and gone across multiple GMs and two franchises, two things are constant: him and a slow pace.

The tempo will not increase. Even if the team goes 0-66, Nate's job will not be on the line - so why should he make changes?

Is Roundo Felton really capable of running the ball? Maybe Nic needs to be the back Point Forward.

Duh...you obviously didn't watch him when playing for D'Antoni

Nate would have the Showtime L*kers scoring 80 points a game. The idea he'll trade tempo for turnovers is ignoring the facts. We'll be slow this year, just like the previous years.
