seems it is too late now, but comcast with a dual tuner hd tivo is what i use, and it rocks. only one tuner records in hd at a time, but i dont usually have competing hd programming on where one feed is unacceptable in regular def. if i had cablecards i could get around this though

Tivo software?

I have heard that Comcast is rolling it out in limited cities.

Where are you located and how did you get it?

I'm probably a dvr noob, but i think comcast's is fine. I don't need 30 hours of recorded content and the 2 cable box tuner comesi n handy

You can purchase a tivo unit seperately to use with comcast and pay tivo a fee. I was assuming this is what he's using.

The Comcast DVR I had is ridiculously slow, crashes every once in a while after locking up, has a horrific search functionality, doesn't seem to recognize about 15% of the buttons I push on my remote (even if I keep it pointing the same way).

It's just crap in comparison to the Tivo I had, and the Tivo is almost a decade older. Pathetic.

Tivo software on Comcast provided equipt is available in limited areas.

Purchasing a tivo unit is expensive, and the tivo service is expensive.
