OK, let's talk about this. I didn't expect him to be the guy.

You didn't expect him to be the guy because he isn't the guy....

Kinda a poor man's Bayless or Jack, if you ask me.

Too bad he was born without a neck. Strikes me as more Webster than Arnold.

SI doesn't seem to be too high on him:
Nolan Smith, 6-4 senior guard, Duke. I don't like him as much as Shelvin Mack or Malcolm Lee. I don't see how he gets much better than he is right now. After watching him play this year, I never saw him get by guys and beat them off the dribble. He doesn't have that extra gear. Some people love him. I get in arguments in our own draft room. They say I'm crazy, but I just don't think he's good enough. People compare Nolan to Mario Chalmers, but Chalmers is a much better shooter. I'd rather have someone like that than someone who's a phenomenal athlete and can't shoot a lick.

His range was more 30-40 and Chad Fucking Buchanan takes him at #21.

I liked Nolan Smith on Duke. Seems like a pretty smart player. nothing like dre but screw it.

Nolan Smith also turns 23 next month. That's positively ancient for an NBA rookie.

Ugh.

As much as Nate McMillen talks about "scrap and hustle" you'd think they'd take a scrapper when he fell to them.

You do like 'em young don't you?

I do. In a variety of ways ;)

Nolan Smith was markedly older than almost everyone he played against this past season. His stats STILL weren't that great, either. I mean... he shot 35% from the college three point line.

Ugh.

All I'm going to do is wait and see what happens ... my hopes are low, but who knows?

Let's all hope we are talking about him being the steal of the 2011 draft in a few years. Ya never know!

Buchanon allegedly said he liked Nolan for his "winning attitude"

So, who's better: Nolan Smith or Armon Johnson?

I think Johnson.

He's just got to hit the 3 and defend. That's all we need out of a backup PG, and Patty certainly couldn't do it.

Smith was the first player in ACC history to lead the league in scoring and assists.

So, who's better: Nolan Smith or Armon Johnson?

I think Johnson.

Nah. Armon is pretty limited in his abilities.

Nolan Smith could be a pretty decent pick. He's ready to play right now which is important imo.

Heh.

I think that Smith is almost certainly markedly better... he DID score 20 ppg this year in a pretty tough conference.

But I am not convinced that he's going to be a guy that is going to be able to play backup PG at a high level any time soon.

Darius Morris, Norris Cole, Reggie Jackson, and Josh Selby are all better prospects than Smith. God. I bet Nate talked to K from Duke and was convinced about taking him. UGh.

Smith shot 35% from 3 as a senior. I hope he is better than that at the next level.

Maybe he'll win those four game that Taureen Green was supposed to get us.
