Donald Trump hasn't even taken office yet, but the president-elect has probably had an impact on your money.

In the weeks since the American presidential election, the U.S. stock market has rallied some 3 percent, global markets have seen some gains and your 401(k) is probably looking pretty good.

The Dow Jones surged past the 19,000 milestone for the first time in its 120-year history in a post-election rally.

Dammit, I thought this thread was going to be a Trump free safe space. Way to ruin it, Denny.

Good news, no?

I think those of us with 401Ks would be happy about this news.

the stock market and the banks certainly seem to be confident it will be business as usual.

Didn't you hear? Gun control problem is over. You can get a gold medal at the Olympics for shooting a gun. That means shooting is a sport. There is national legislation being drawn up to make all public high schools offer the sport of shooting in PE class and as a competitive sport.

Most rural high schools have always had trap and target shooting clubs/classes.

It is actually the safest high school sport by far.

The true economics of Solar. For me at least.

About $40K to install a solar system that will generate all the power you need, plus double that to sell back to the power company. Your payments will be about $400/month but you have no electric bill.

When the power company changes its policy about buying back electricity at retail price (an unfair forcing of the company to subsidize solar), you will have your $400/month payment PLUS 1/2 a regular electric bill (e.g. what you use at night). The power company here already stopped buying back electricity generated.

People installing solar are going to be fucked. Solar is effectively 150% the cost of electricity sold by the electric company. In my case, $400/month is higher than my actual bill, but might be worthwhile to assure my monthly cost never goes over $400 for a couple of decades.

I cannot find a solar company that will install solar on my house. They say the economics doesn't support it.

Club and Classes aren't the same as sports. You were the guy who bought a letterman jacket for chess club.
