Not close at all, but cling to your delusions.

They are all you have left.

Very close. The Democrat only lost by 2 points in a blood red district. Trump won that same district by 12 points in the 2016 election. That should be concerning to Republicans

What was voter turnout in comparison?

The margin of victory for the Republican was nearly 4X greater in this election than the regular election in 2018.

Big whoop republicans won by 3,973 votes instead of 905. When you look at the complete numbers, a voter turnout of 189,363 votes, with the Democrats winning 48.7% of that vote (92, 144 votes) to the Republicans (96,081 votes) it is not a very impressive win, especially in a republican stronghold.

Meh, I wouldn’t look too much into. A Republican won a special election in Massachusetts after all and that wasn’t indicative of the 2012 election.

Perhaps you are correct. But I do like the trend.

The trend is, the dems over took the House by a large margin in 2018 and now just barely lost an election in a red state.

I don't think anyone other than trump and some of his minions are thinking it's a big deal. They appear to be grasping for any kind of victory these days.

You like the trend? A district that was won by 12% by Trump was just won by only 2%. If that trend continues, Trump loses that district in the election.

I like the trend that Trump makes a difference in elections.

40 seats were gained by the dems in the house in 2018. He sure did make a difference......... for the other party. :bgrin:

Same thing happened to Obama in that so-called referendum vote. Stuff happens. In this case, Trump made a difference for Bishop.
