Right. Some guys are attracted to bright lights and big city vibe. I'm sure Ellsbury has visions of DiMaggio/Mantle dancing in his head. I'm happy with anything north of Bernie Williams. But Choo has no experience with a key rivalry, big city, etc. He likely used the Yanks as leverage to secure a deal with a middle market team. As said before, glad that fish got away, lefties make sushi out of him. Just waiting for the article titled, "this time Kevin Long means it, he can fix the vs. Lefties issue".

I'm still waiting for Long to convince Tex to go the other way every now & then to beat the shift. Yeah like that's going to happen.

The only way TeX is ever going to go the other way would be to hold a press conference and become the first openly gay active baseball player. And that isn't happening because no gay man would be caught dead with that flowbee hairstyle.

...and oh, speaking of guns, I tried for 2 days in both Florida and Georgia to find 22 magnum ammunition for a rifle I bought my Son. Every store I called said the same thing, which was they were all out, supposedly out of that caliber and many others because purposely bought up MILLIONS of dollars in ammo in order to hopefully keep as much ammo out of our hands.
...can't regulate the guns/rifles to their liking?...simple solution; buy up the ammo.

...this really pisses me off...and as soon as it becomes available again I'll stockpile some myself.

one of the many reasons I despise the asshole who resides in the white house...

lol

American Rifleman had a nice article debunking that and clarifying the issues. Lots of factors including military use, UN arms treaty impacting import of surplus/cheap ammo and EPA forcing shut down of lead smelting. But .gov isn't buying up anymore that usual. What they are doing though is buying premium defense rounds vs target plinking grade.

Rule of thumb, stockpile 2-3K in each caliber + whatever you shoot for training annually. Because of this folks are consolidating calibers or branching into exotics for SHTF. All depends on where you live. I'm collecting brass and getting into reloading...the trick was to build the Mrs. her own rifle. ;)

...that's pretty f'n funny...I gotta write that one down.

...thanx for the link, tote. I'll save it for future reference. I knew there were a few online places to buy ammo but I thought I'd pick some up yesterday on the way back from Fla...I have a .243 and a .308 and it's been getting harder and harder to buy it in town at walmart or elsewhere. I can understand a short supply during deer season for larger calibers, but 22s and 22 mags?...why would the government want to but up 22s?...because it IS so common?

...fwiw, I'm also saving brass and considering reloading myself.

...just checked...though they say "in stock", when you add 22 mags (CCI) to your "shopping cart", I got a prompt that says "out of stock"...unreal.

Rimfire goes fast because its cheap, and can't be reloaded. I have a 22LR conversion slide for my Glock17, for when 9mm is tough to come by. Also building a dedicated 22LR upper for my AR15 custom build. Haven't taken the 308 plunge yet, plan to in 2014. Will also build a 300Blackout as that round is a hybrid of the 223 case and 300 bullet. If you reload both 223 and 308, its the perfect hybrid. All my ARs have adjustable gas systems so they can be used as precision bolt action set ups. Select table bolt vs semi auto action is a sad reality in today's knee jerk political atmosphere.

Refresh the list and buy fast. All the vendors surveyed pledge to not play the in/out stock game.

...my 308 is a great all around rifle...also have a 308 "hand cannon" as I call it. It's a break barrel single shot with a 10" barrel and a laser sight...but my favorite by far is my .243. The accuracy just amazes me.
