Not feeling it

I was one of the few who was in favor (or at least, not melting down over) the Evan Turner signing. I don't need him to become a superstar, but I'd like him to fit in like he did in Boston. Also, Crabbe just isn't getting shots. In one game he played 20 minutes and took about 2 shots. That might not be his fault, but it's bad if it persists: his shot is the reason he was re-signed.

Seriously way too much to take away from a preseason game here, especially when Terry is deliberately jumbling the lineups to see what they look like. AC also has had multiple games this preseason with double digit shooting attempts.
(Being "crazy deep" brings its own problems. It was the undoing of the Rasheed Blazers.)

I already predicted there will be a wing and a big this year who secretly ask to get traded. But the depth will be useful when the injuries hit. The lack of cohesion is a concern-- I too don't like the way we look as a whole right now, but I at least see the potential. Give this a few months.

God I feel old

Well, at least Cybil is aging with us:

Preseason records since stotts took over.
2016-17: 3-2
2015-16: 3-4
2014-15: 4-3
2013-14: 5-2
2012-13: 3-4

This seasons seems right on par with how we do in the preseason generally. Stotts is mainly tinkering with lineups and doesn't care that much about the W/L record.

Cliff didn't have a wife. He lived with his mom for most of the series.

Norm's wife was Vera.

OKay, you know a little too much.

Let me ask you this. What did Cliff use on himself when he was told he doesn't say nice things and he wanted to try to correct it?

And what about Nick and Carla? Best couple ever right? I would think that would be the comparison. Weren't they ALWAYS fighting? lol

Preseason or not, I'm still sticking with my 60 win prediction that I've said before. Over/under between HCP and myself is 46.5 wins. Damn, that number sounds familiar..... Lol. (I WILL be closer!!!)

Was that the one with the shock treatment? Whenever he said something mean, he got a jolt.

I preferred the lovely Loretta, the ultimate dumb blonde.

I can't date dumb chicks in real life, but found her cluelessness and vapid expressions a hilarious counterpart to Diane's intellectualism.

Last year's preseason records?

Warriors : 3-4
Cavs : 1-6
Spurs: 2-4
Clippers : 3-3
Blazers 3-4

Yeah...we definitely need more of these meltdown threads. :smiley-195517897341 :smiley-195517897341 :smiley-195517897341
Why is everyone pointing to record? I don't think anyone, including those "melting down", cares whether we're winning in the preseason. All the comments of concern are in regard to how our rotation players are performing, both individually and collectively.

Can we at least keep our the criticisms of other posters' concerns on point?

This might come as a surprise to you, but there is a correlation (maybe even causation, imagine that!!!) between how well the players are playing both individually and collectively and team record.

It didn't matter for the teams last preseason and it probably won't this year as well. Lineups are changing, players are getting used to each other, they have a new offensive set, etc, etc.

Yes sir! My fav episode!1 I just love it when Cliff thinks he is unjustly getting shocked and hobbles his way over to the guy shocking him, grabs the shocker devise, points it at the guy he had keeping him in check and then proceeds to shock himself thinking he is shocking the guy he brought with him. I don't know why, but it has always vividly stuck with me and I laugh every time I think about it. Cliff was sooo pissed and sooo sure of himself when he hit the button and proceeded to shock himself even more. Think i'm gonna have a Cheers marathon this weekend if its raining. lol

I agree that it's way too early to be overly concerned. However, I'm not liking some of the things I'm seeing in the preseason either. Defense can look very good at times, but it can also look downright terrible too. Unless Stotts changes his P&R philosophy, it will be another year of uncontested mid range shots and alley oops at the rim for the opponents. Evan Turner meshing is such a critical component. If he does, the Blazers have very little let down when the second unit comes in. Time will tell.
