JLL identified as a cradle robber and married his cousin. Those were unacceptable social mores at the time. Wouldn't surprise me if they become completely acceptable in the coming years.

You thought Herschel Walker was awesome. Why would anything surprise you, you'll believe anything you're told to. So when the dumbest of the dumb say it's a slippery slope from transgender people having rights to allowing people to marry children, of course their moronic voting block will believe it.

Of course, if you open the primary, then you encourage voters from the other party to ratfuck you by crossing over to vote for the least-electable candidate.
Better would be to go to a single primary for everyone with the top two advancing to the general regardless of party, as some other states have done.
Even better would be to combine that with ranked-choice voting.

But reality matters. As Rumsfeld might have said, you go to vote with the political system you have, not the political system you might want or wish to have at a later time. In 2022 we have the system we have.

And in that system, Betsy is a spoiler.

And your knowledge at the time (well over a year ago) was precisely what? I thought it was cool he was running. Big deal. When I heard about his past, I called him a deadbeat, among other derisive terms. What he has done is despicable. But, again, only recently has all of this come out.

Aside from a few obvious nut cases no. There are people who party in animal costumes. They presumably like other animals but are clear they are human.

Throughout history and in every culture incest has been illegal and very very unpopular. I am quite comfortable in saying that it will never be inconsequential.

I know this is mainly for elections in the US, but can we all just take a moment to be thankful that Bolsonaro didn't win reelection in Brazil. Looks like he's going down the same "election was rigged" route that our former dipshit in chief did, doubt it will work any better for him but I guess we'll see.
