Will there be a rally at Pioneer Courthouse Square?

So the breaking news is that Brandon Roy agreed to a deal? Didn't we learn that yesterday?

Please wait until he signs it to post more breaking news about this old news story

I learned that Monday! :ghoti:

Well none of this is really breaking news because the majority of us knew it was a formality anyway.

So does "Deal Coming Soon", by the way

I think it holds the record for most posts ever in a thread over at BBF

A formality that took a month.

Most knew it would get done, but some just wondered why in the hell it could take a month to give Roy exactly what he wanted. Which is what they did

Much like me doing my taxes. I know I'll get them done before the deadline, sometimes I do it a few weeks after I get all my info, sometimes it takes me a few months. The most important thing, is I know it's going to get done before it matters.

the way i always understood it was mgmt wanted 4 year max, roy wanted 4 year with player option on yr 5, and it seems the middle ground has been 5 years guaranteed.

If the fifth year isn't a player option, it wasn't exactly what he wanted.

$78 mil or $82 mil? Come on Pritchard--quit stalling and make up your mind!!!!!

I would not argue that one. I am not going to think about why this didn't get done earlier. It's futile, and does nothing but make me angry. Time to move on, and look forward to Aldridge being next.

I swear if I could time warp to pre season, where Aldridge is signed, and everybody is excited to get camp going, I would.

I can't believe a man without leverage like Roy ended up getting a max deal, for max years, as the economy continues to crumble.

No one will know until the salary cap is calculated next year.

There'd be no need to put that small of a range on it. If the salary cap drops as much as it might according to the NBA, the max salary would be about a million dollars a year lower than it is now, and it would be about $75.6m.

It'll be interesting to see where the contract ends up.

Don't forget no in***es between now and then as well.

Frankly, LMA's deal is far less crucial for me as a fan, and I'm happy with the Roy result.

It's not clear that it's max money from that report.

In any case, I find it less remarkable that he WOULD get max money than that he would NOT end up all bent out of shape. Haven't you been leading the charge about how badly the negotiations have been scewing things up?

SO if ODENISGOD is on the ignore list . . . will it ever be official?

Its pretty pathetic to actually put someone on an ignore list. Just don't read those posts. One must have absolutely no will power to even consider that. Its anonymous and you can just look at the username and choose to not read it. Makes me laugh.

Huh? Screwing what up? It's over now, anyhow.

I'm wondering if they'll do both Roy and Aldridge at the same time. Kill two bird with one stone.

I think Aldridge's will take longer than a day to complete. His should be the one that requires the negotiating.
