Now even Quick is getting in on this LA wants out train

After the game, I approached Aldridge again, this time in the locker room. I asked more questions about his past sponsorships and why he suddenly this year decided not to renew any of them. And since our pregame talk, I had received more information, again through a third party: He was trying to put a clause into his lease that if he was traded, it he wouldn’t have to pay penalties for breaking the lease early.

Aldridge was irritated.

This is why I hate being in Portland,’’ he told me. “You can’t do anything.’’

Sorta empathize with him about the fishbowl syndrome, but he was never embraced like Roy was and Dame is.

Blake and Lillard would be fun to watch.

But there is no way LA is going for that.

I think it is safe to say he hates the media in Portland. Can't blame him for that.

I saw LMA out plenty of times in Tualatin at the grocery store. Nobody ever bothered him.

Same story. New players. Rinse. Repeat. Lillard in a few years.

Yep, and now the media is jumping on the train. I've never seen a local media more invested in bringing down local teams. You should see/hear the Duck bashing that goes on by the sports' talk douchebags and print douchebags in the Oregonian.

On a side note, is there a player in this league that wants to be in Portland? Allen may have better odds of keeping his players if he moves this disaster to the emerald city.

As a fan, I get tired of the phoniness. Players saying and doing all the right things and feeling something the totally opposite. I think I spent 30 minutes watching LA interview kissing the arse of Portland fans only coming to find out now, none of it is true.

The media is worse in large markets. He can't stand it, good luck with Chicago, or LA, or...

I so called this when we got rid of zach to free up room for LA. Hell...zbo still lives in Portland.

Its not worse than quick. Or jaynes. They are total hacks. Piss cup? Looking through Window blinds. Quick has planted stories in the past for his buddy Damon.

Well, you would know about phoniness.

Not a bad article but its just pulling quotes that came when LA was frustrated and making a conclusion based on that. I bet you could do that with almost any player in any market. You could probably find a lot of the same stuff from Durant in OKC and write a very similar article.

Hes going to end up in brooklyn in three years. Better trade him for devin harris.

Kind of tough to use quotes from the end of a disappointing season as the basis for an article about somebody's state of mind three months later, but if we're being reasonable, LMA probably has ten reasons to want out for every one he has to stick around.

So what does all this mean? Nothing. LMA isn't quite into the "trade me now or get nothing later" phase, so Olshey has some time to figure out what to do if indeed the clock is ticking and LMA leaving is inevitable.

Players bitch about wanting out all the time. Happens more in smaller cities when your team isn't in the playoffs. Everyone wants more money and to be on a winning team. Winning cures most ills. BFD.

The pants-shitting over this is ridiculous. Blazers need to get the man, Brian Grant, more involved. He's one of the biggest FA's PDX EVER acquired. We got him here. Shit fell apart cu. he was unhappy with how things fell apart, but he returned upon retirement. Obviously, it ain't that bad here.

And for those worried about Dame.... We're close to his hometown, his big endorsement is based here.... Don't shat yourselves.

Nobody is worried about Dame. It's just PapaG and Presidente creating drama.

Same was said about aldridge and basically every centerpiece of the team going back to Drexler.

Eventually lillard will be the scapegoat and fans and media will be more than happy to great him with pitchforks.

How exactly did we "run Aldridge out of town?" I'm just curious. The rumor is that he wants out. Many people have said that the only way Olshey trades him is if he knows LMA wants out. Are you one of those people who blames themselves when your girl cheats on you?

Have you not read the message board the past year? You are so enamored with discovering a mediocre player into being a future star that it clouds your basketball judgement. People pile and pile on "lamarshmellow" all year...he puts up the most ppg for his postion and people look to dump him for crap. ... they say "hes not in Lillards" window or "he wants out now". Any justification to satisfy your desire to dump him so you can argue to acquire players you have a mancrush for.

It's got zero to do with the fans or media. It's the endless rebuilding on a team that's mired in the draft every damn year.

LaMarcus Aldridge Wants Trade From Blazers, Deems Portland Too Small...

LaMarcus Aldridge has wanted out of Portland since the last week of the Trail Blazers' season and did not resign sponsorship deals in Portland this past year, including agreements with Cadillac, Chevy, and Providence Hospital while asking to get out of a lease on his Pearl District condo.

Aldridge tried to put a clause into his lease that he will not have to pay penalties if he was traded.

“This is why I hate being in Portland,’’ Aldridge said during the last week of the season. “You can’t do anything.’’

According to the report, Aldridge would not only welcome a trade from the Blazers, but he hopes for one, believing the city is too boring and small.

Neil Olshey said he sympathized with the constant change Aldridge has gone through with the Blazers, but the GM was adamant he would not be shopping the All-Star forward.

“Well, I’ll tell you this: I’m not going to be making any phone calls to move him,’’ Olshey said. “But if the phone rings and it makes the team better ...’

alot has to do with fan discontent. Sheed, ZBO, Jailblazers.....fans and media revolt and bitch and moan when the team sucks so they choose a target and latch on that, usually the marquee player.

Re: LaMarcus Aldridge Wants Trade From Blazers, Deems Portland Too Small...

Inaccurate title. Jason Quick says LaMarcus Aldridge deems portland too small and boring based on his beliefs, not any actual stated information.

Re: LaMarcus Aldridge Wants Trade From Blazers, Deems Portland Too Small...

Well if it's to small whats the point of even having a team?
