I doubt it, because in the real world, they aren't going to sign up for the insurance, any more than they sign up for car insurance or life insurance or anything else. This whole discussion of whether illegal aliens can illegally get coverage is pretty much a red herring.

Exactly. And they're especially not going to pay for insurance when they know they will get free health care with no questions asked if this bill passes. At least now, we can limit our obligations to their long term care.

They aren't going to sign up for even "free" healthcare. Illegals generally don't try to illegally get government services, for fear of being busted. Is illegal alien access to SS a big problem? To Medicare? To welfare?

Well, considering you're talking about the House plan which is by far the more liberal of the ideas set in motion and has already been declared as DOA for the Senate, it's a bit ridiculous to dwell upon it.

But hey, let me bring up potential programs/laws from the last 20 years and begin blaming the Presidents whose tenure they occurred under for each of them...though nothing has happened.

NPR??? The last time they opposed a liberal piece of legislation was in the Eisenhower administration . . . I mean the Truman administration . . . or was it during the Lincoln administration?

Uh, wait a minute, it was never.
