Nuggets Front-Runners for Kidd

Camby would just take away Boone and William's minutes and stunt there growth besides that if we trade Kidd we get young talent not a second tier aging Center.

We take back Camby, stay in mediocrity even longer.

If we are a middle of the road team with Kidd, and you replace Kidd with Camby, what do you think will happen? By the time those picks even matter, Camby will be broken down, as he's Mr. Glass.</div>

Camby's contract is pretty reasonable IMO. I would love for the Nets to pay him that just to mentor Sean and Josh.

Now, Camby is made of glass and will most likely miss 30% of the rest of his contract but if we get back picks along with that, I'm on board.

Camby/Sean/Josh frontcourt looks pretty sweet from where I'm standing.

Camby/Sean/Josh frontcourt brings us where? No where. Why get Camby and waste the rest of career by sticking to being a middle of a road team, when instead Camby we could get younger players with picks? Getting Camby would just waste his time with the team, because, like I said earlier, we would go nowhere. If we trade pick, you need to go young so the picks and players coincide. Getting one talented player back would do no good, because we won't go anywhere with him.

That frontcourt looks pretty sweet? Where's it gonna take us? Camby will be done by the time the picks come into play, and all we will have gotten was a couple picks for Jason Kidd. We need to get young talent in return, too, if we do trade Kidd.

That's my thought on the "rumored deal" too. Who says Camby has to stay here for the rest of his career? His contract is alot easier to trade than Kidd's is and we can get even more assets from someone looking for a center to put them over the top but not before Marcus gives our young kids a couple pointers before being shipped out. I really don't think Kidd's gonna bring back immediate assets to start rebuilding this summer so why not bring in a player who can draw some interest from other teams seeing as they don't have to send us half their team like they would for Kidd.

There's seriously a handful of post up bigmen even left in the league and all of them worth getting are untouchable. Anyone sticking their nose up at Camby just because he likes taking jumpers doesn't get exactly how much he can bring to a team.

Could the Nets do better? I guess we'll see, but a name like Camby is much more encouraging to me than Kwame Brown and his expiring deal in the mindset of Rod playing the FA market.

I want Nene, JR and Kleiz and there first round picks for the next 20 years

Sure Camby could teach Boone and Sean a thing or two. Jason Kidd could teach Marcus a thing or two as well, in addition to keeping the entire team together, too.

Denver's probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite west team, but I definitly wouldn't give Kidd over to them. I don't think there's anything logical in a trade involving Kidd to Denver for either parties.

If the Nets want to get young talent, Denver is a no go. They have virtually none, except for Bobby Jones, who is a favorite of Dumpy.

Thing is Camby, Nene, and KMart are all injury prone. You're taking a risk if you take one of those three back in a trade.

Not to mention a trio of Kidd, AI, Melo, and probably two of the three big men they have now would barring any injuries most likely keep any first round picks in the late 20's.

I don't see how trading with Denver makes any sense whatsoever.

Great post, I agree. Not sure I believe in this Camby giving Sean and Boone pointers idea. It seems more like he'll be taking away minutes from them to learn during real games.

If we want to teach Sean and Boone about post defense, we might as well wait till the off-season and nab Theo Ratliff for cheap.

This will be a bad trade for both teams. Even though the Nuggets acquire Kidd, there is a gaping hole in the middle for them. Both Nene and Martin have histories of injuries. Nene is even injured right now! And at age 30, with a mechanically repaired knee, Martin is in no position physically to play consistent minutes at center. If the Nuggets hope to really compete for an NBA championship, they will have to face the likes of Duncan, Stoudemire, Nowitzki, Boozer, and maybe Yao if the Rockets can get their acts together. Who better than an athletic center, who just won the DPOY award? Kidd could be a good addition, but not at the expense of your only legitimate center.

The only way the Nets should trade Kidd is for young talent, not, as was mentioned, for an "old head". Camby is not going to take the Nets to another level. In fact, the Nets will probably lose more games sacrificing their point guard of the last six years. And since they won't win any more games now, or in the future, how is this a good trade for the Nets? And how is Camby going to help improve Boone or Sean's game? His tutelage is not going to transform their game anymore than the Nets' training staff. They will get better with experience.

I was just reading something on RealGm about Larry Hughes being dicussed in trade talks, The talsk are between the Cavs and Wizards and the article also said about a team from the Atlantic Divison being involved in talks with the Cavs as well, anyone here think the Nets might be that team?

Nets have no use for Larry "I Suck" Hughes. It's probably the Knicks interested.
