Notice nurk is unhappy with his role

Nurkic tries not to pout, but he’s doing a lousy job of faking it. Nurkic opened the season as a starter, predicting he would be a beast, with the bold belief he could lead the NBA in rebounding. Now? Reality bites, as Nurkic sits on the bench, his shattered goals as sad as a lost puppy. When given minutes, instead of busting his tail, Nurkic acts too cool for school, feigning disinterest that prevents him from chasing down a rebound.—Feb 2017

Sounds pretty darn familiar 5 years later.

Nurk is upset with his role?

I'm upset with Nurk's roll. It's embarrassing to watch his effort and a shame he is wearing a Blazer uniform.

Blazer fans appreciate a work ethic.

Lucas
Williams
Kersey
Grant

....and why fans are loving Little because even if he has an off night, it's not for lack of heart.

Our fanbase is in a sad state right now.

I generally love your analysis. At worst it is thought provoking and often it is downright brilliant. In this case, however, I am at a loss to understand it. His production is inconsistent, his effort is inconsistent, his attitude is questionable...I just don't get it. To be brutally honest, I would rather see him walk for nothing at the end of the season than over-pay to keep him.

You must be blind to defense. Without Nurk anchoring the paint we're dead last in the nba.

He's been really good defensively this year and is finishing at (easily) a career high rate. I don't understand where the hate comes from.

No one is upset with nurk for what he does well, defense, screens, rebounds.

What people do not like is lack of effort because he believes he is a star and the teams offense should run more through him when we have tons of evidence it's a bad idea.

Fans love role players that play with energy and enjoy their role. That's why pryzbilla was beloved here.

Either he has a bloated sense of his skills (most athletes do) or someone is feeding him a line in hopes to get him a better deal eventually.

Either way, he's writing checks his ass has historically not been able to cash.

I agree. But letting players that could have been traded for value walk for nothing is an Olshey move, starting with Aldridge. I'd rather trade and bring back less value than no value. If the team is going nowhere at the trade deadline, and Olshey is gone, going to need to make changes.

That's what happens to fan bases who watch a franchise underperform year after year. Especially when you make watching the team a pain in the ass.

Your fan base starts to dwindle...
Nah, not the the extent I'm talking about with certain people.
