Not what I'm saying..........His play borderlines on cheap and dirty?
Yeah FUCK Jason Quick.
Quick evidently apologized to him this off-season so at this point that would say more about CJ than Jason.
So? Quick apologized for lying to publicly humiliate him?
Really? That apology can be accepted?
Yeah... No...
Not what I'm saying..........
Not really up to you is it?
You changed the context of my statement with your reply. Wasnt talking about his answer, I was talking about his play. No, it's what I'm saying.
CJ is clearly still upset with Quick (rightly so IMHO).
Hence the way the answer was given.
31-20 is on track for a 49.9 win season. Of course, the schedule gets rough, very soon. From our Blazers site:
31 Wins
20 Losses
Home 21 7
Away 10 13
West 17 17
East 14 3

and that's a big part of the problem...he's not an efficient shooter:
points/FGA: Blazers 1.25
points/FGA: All Blazers besides CJ 1.27
points/FGA: Meyers 1.43
points/FGA: Dame 1.36
points/FGA: Nurkic 1.34
points/FGA: Layman 1.30
points/FGA: Zach 1.29
points/FGA: Aminu 1.27
points/FGA: CJ 1.16
points/FGA: Seth 1.16
points/FGA: Turner 1.12
(calcs before last night's game)
CJ is shooting 18 shots a game, 7 more than Nurkic, 11 more than Aminu, and 12 more than any other more efficient Blazer shooter.
the point being that CJ is much closer to Turner in efficiency then he is to Dame. He's even closer to Turner then he is to those other 5 players. Looks like he's shooting too much
CJ has been given lots of credit for creating his own shots. But he's only average at doing it, at best. Meanwhile, he's shown elite skills at spot-up and catch & shoot opportunities, but those won't be available while he dribbles. CJ should be spending a lot more possessions off the ball moving around screens and picks; and a lot fewer possessions dribbling.
but this debate always ends up looping back to the weak synergy and heavy redundancy of the Dame/CJ pairing. A few people were questioning it when CJ was drafted. More started to question it when CJ was elevated to starter. It's now grown to a large collection of critics, and those aren't haters, like some argue, but are rather people who can watch basketball games and can see bad fits between players and units. CJ supporters keep saying CJ would shine on another team, away from Dame. CJ detractors really want CJ supporters to be able to watch him on another team...win/win
OMG you are a stats geek. Not a criticism, I respect your research and I am not saying analytics aren't necessary for NBA teams to keep track of. But to me it counts for a very very small percentage of any debate. This is not baseball.
And really, we're 7-11 against West PO teams - so not even close .500.From our Blazers site:
31 Wins
20 Losses
Home 21 7
Away 10 13
West 17 17
East 14 3
Unfortunately, given those stats, we don't play and EC team unless we get to the Finals. So we are a .500 team against the teams we will play in the Playoffs. Not exactly super confidence inspiring yet.
And really, we're 7-11 against West PO teams - so not even close .500.
I wish CJ would shoot for a triple double, every game he plays for the Blazers. We would be a much better team.
He takes too many poor shots. I understand he is a 2-guard. But, even MJ had lots of assists.
There are games he has less than 2 assists? How is this even acceptable? How come coaches don't even call him out on it?
Why? Our schedule is much easier than the first three months, even with the road games. And we're playing much better right now and usually play better during the 2nd half.31-20 is on track for a 49.9 win season. Of course, the schedule gets rough, very soon.
Why?Further solidifying my assertion that the Blazers are stuck solidly in NBA Purgatory.
Also, I'm pissed once again I didn't bet the over on our win total. I don't know how to. That was obvious money right there...

Why?
We have a great winning percentage against Eastern Playoff teams right now.

Damn, why doesnt every team go 41-41 since home court matters SO much? You obsess over it, and constantly post about it. Toronto is a really good team without those guys. We would've beat Philly that night even of they had Embiid. You act like a win against Charlotte doesnt count but will also use them to say our remaining SOS is still tough. Cant have it both ways. It sounds to me like you are searching for excuses to not give credit to the team.well, Portland is 6-2 against EC playoff teams; like you said, great record...until you examine it. 5 of those 6 wins came in Portland, one against Charlotte, a team 2 games under .500. Another came against Toronto when they were missing Lowry and Valunciunas, plus Siakam for the 4thQ. And another against Philly when they were missing Embiid
in this 'easy' remaining schedule, Portland has a 7 game road trip when 5 of 6 games will be against EC playoff teams. We'll see how they do then
by the way, you need to adjust your narrative about SOS; big time. To this point, Portland has had the 8th most difficult SOS. Their remaining SOS is the 9th most difficult; essentially, no difference. Funny how that changes, and of course, as I've been pointing out, both of those SOS rankings don't account for the fact that Portland has played 5 more home games than road games, the biggest differential in the NBA.

And our schedule is easier. I dont care what you have to say about SOS, we games against NOP, BKN (No Dinwiddie), and many mediocre Eastern teams that have much better record due than they would have if they played in the West. This reasoning is why you dont count Charlotte as a legit playoff team, but their record will prop up rSOS more than the actual strength of their team.
I know we have a road trip coming up, I've constantly referenced it as being the only difficult part of our schedule left. After we get back, our schedule is very easy.
You post the same stuff constantly, and I have the same answer.
I provided proper context. You can choose to accept it, or reject it.the very first time I offered my opinion on SOS was after you started extolling the virtues of an easy remaining SOS. I just pointed out that SOS going to change, game by game, and here we are with Portland's past SOS and future SOS being essentially the same.
and LOL at you going after somebody for "posting the same stuff constantly"....that's a good one mr. kettle
I provided proper context. You can choose to accept it, or reject it.
I post the same stuff constantly? That"s laughable. Seems like you tried to come up with some sort of retort but didnt take the time to think about it.
Analyzing what's happening during the game thread? That's my reaction to a new game. Often times the same stuff happens.you did not provide "proper" context...you provided your biased context, and yes, I did too. That's the way opinions work when they differ
as for you not posting the same things constantly, it must be another bones jones that fills every damn game thread with the same harping about the same perceived faults of Stotts. Go back to the last game thread when Portland lost and check yourself out
c'mon man...sure, I have my favorite tunes that I'll play over and over; everybody does, including you...at least admit that
