Nurk says we need to get more people involved

Some SG named Clyde Drexler averaged 6 assists during his time in Portland....and the Blazers were much better for it.
He also played in a system that prioritized movement and passing. And had guys like Buck and Kersey he could pass to, instead of Aminu and some random rotation of SFs.

It's not that Buck or Jerome were incredibly skilled. It's that they got out on the break and ran.....which is something this team avoids like the plague. Our guard assist numbers would go up significantly IMO if they ran more and Harkelss/Aminu were filling the wings and got a good pass (not at their feet) where they could finish with 1 or less dribbles.

Agreed. But that's not a CJ-issue.

You can't really use game threads to judge posting prowess.

Lots of emotion in those threads. Because of that, I don't remember the last game thread I posted in.
He's trying to find something to get over on me. I wish I never got HCP to stop bullying rooks! I was too short-sighted!

well, Portland is 6-2 against EC playoff teams; like you said, great record...until you examine it. 5 of those 6 wins came in Portland, one against Charlotte, a team 2 games under .500. Another came against Toronto when they were missing Lowry and Valunciunas, plus Siakam for the 4thQ. And another against Philly when they were missing Embiid

in this 'easy' remaining schedule, Portland has a 7 game road trip when 5 of 6 games will be against EC playoff teams. We'll see how they do then

by the way, you need to adjust your narrative about SOS; big time. To this point, Portland has had the 8th most difficult SOS. Their remaining SOS is the 9th most difficult; essentially, no difference. Funny how that changes, and of course, as I've been pointing out, both of those SOS rankings don't account for the fact that Portland has played 5 more home games than road games, the biggest differential in the NBA.

We are well aware of your consistently negative views when it comes to the Blazers. It's in many of your posts.

I heard that Nurkic said we should get more people involved in scoring . . .

I confess I'm not a CJ fan. One of my main complaints with him is one game I will see him continually miss open teammates under the basket and wish he would pass more, then the next game I see him chuck turnovers trying and wish he would pass less. It's a combination of disinterest, poor passing vision, and poor passing mechanics. I just don't know if a coach can change all three of those.
