Oh what a couple wins does for a fanbase who's team has not met a lot of their expectations.

Look Nurk is cool and all, and it's the flavor of the month right now.
But Portland is still a weak rebounding team. It doesn't matter how well you play defense, if you can't rebound.
What happened when OKC was forced to hit a 3 late in the game? How many attempts did they get at it.
How did Philly send it into OT?

I personally don't want to see the Spurs or GSW, because they will kill Portland on the glass.
Frankly, I'm getting tired of saying to my TV. "oh for fuck sake rebound".

total rebounds doesn't mean Portland isn't struggling on the defensive glass.
Especially at key times in the game.

If we got SA in the first round Nurk would absolutely go OFF on Pau's weak ass. His defense is abysmal and he has looked so weak this year. Plus LA would most likely have some bad games in Portland being the sensitive prick he is. I think he could feast on either team, but good call.

Dude got posterized by BG twice in the same game back when he was with the Lakers, and if you go watch a youtube video of the NBAs greatest posters he will probably be a victim more than anyone else.

I would be really interested if a "Beat LA" chant could get in his head. Imagine if we were able to get in his head and take him out of the series. That's a tough choice between that and knocking off the scumbag Warriors. Either way I'd be hyped for either one of those series even with the Odds stacked against us.

Aldridge is out indefinitely with a heart issue....which would make SA beatable.

Kawhi would lock down Lillard, so we would need Nurk and CJ to go off. Problem is Danny Green is a very good defender in his own right and will probably give CJ a tough time.

All season long, almost everyone here has said that if we make the playoffs, we'll just get blown out and swept by the Warriors or Spurs. Has the emergence of Nurkic changed your mind? Does the addition of a dominant center give us a better shot than you thought a few days ago?

Crabbe and Aminu are playing better as well, and the Warriors are not looking so great at the moment, so it might not be a total ass-kicking.

I'm assuming you think he's not good anymore, because his stats are lower this year? His stats are lower because Pop rests his players a lot during the regular season.

He's playing a career low in minutes, and having his second lowest year statistically.

He didn't just start sucking, he's just not playing that many minutes.

Kawhis per 36 is crazy, I think he should hands down be the MVP.

We will fair better. meaning we wont get swept. will we win a series against GS/SA? No. Not without help from the injury bug (LMA?).
Am I now cool with them taking the 8th seed and losing a higher pick? Yes. Because this team needs to continue to gel and the experience will again be good for them. Plus we don't need and cant have three picks. SO lets package them to move up and get TJ Leaf and we have a great looking future (other small tweaks may be needed by the trade deadline).
