Nurkic is a Blazer!!

Got two more pages. The obvious nickname when he dunks on someone and puts the ball or their chest is Jerkich. I hope to see that someone else said it first. "He went full Jerkich"

when i saw the headline i was (obviously) like, please let it be for Meyley Biebtard, but alas - it's the sole guy left who is waiting to be paid, this years effort guy, who we are shipping out.

part of making up for the shitfest of signings last season is that we have to trade real assets to move forwards, and we're light af on them really.

I'm hopeful of what can eventuate outta this, but if all this is some fuckin smokescreen to start meyers at PF, someone gone die.

It's obvious there's a lot of emotion in your posts Cippy. Which is good we need passionate posters/fans. . .

Nikolokulus is one of the most logical posters on here - and he did just that; he corrected an unfactual statement.

That is all.

A logical poster? Fascinating.....I like that.

I wonder if DEN starts Mase at the 4 next to Jokic. We never really got to see Mase at the 4 which is the only thing I regret. I'd love to see Mase find himself on a team with DJ type player at the 5 so that he can start at PF. I think Plumlee would have a lot of success in that situation. He can't shoot or finish as well as Blake Griffin, but he is close to or as athletic and is probably a better playmaker/passer than Griffin.

Plumlee is such a conundrum. He's got the ball handling, passing, and all-around athleticism of a guard, but the shooting and man-defense of a non-rotation big. How can someone with such elite skills for the position be so fundamentally flawed at shooting, the one thing that's easiest to find competence at?

If he ever develops that shooting ability, he'll be a marvelous PF.

He doesn't move well enough laterally to play PF full time. He'll get killed on the perimeter against most teams. I do think he can play PF against certain teams however, even though he can't shoot. His passing spaces the court. You can't just leave him open.

I don't know if anyone else posted this. This is the letter from Mason to Portland and the fans.

The last 24 hours have been a blur, but such is life in the NBA. One minute you’re in Portland, the next you’re in Denver. New city, new teammates, new coach, new places to explore and new people to meet. It all happens incredibly fast, there’s little time to pause and reflect.

But even if time is short, my appreciation and admiration for Portland is forever. Over the last two seasons, I’ve been fortunate to be part of a world-class organization with incredible teammates and coaches and some of the most passionate and supportive basketball fans in the NBA. It was in Portland that I had the opportunity to establish myself as a starter in this league and grow as a player and a person. It was in Portland that I met talented, creative, caring people who welcomed me into their community and inspired me every day.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who made my time in the Rose City such a special and meaningful experience. I will always treasure our time together.

Kind of ironic, but yesterday I posted a picture on Instagram in front of my favorite billboard in Portland that reads “LONG LIVE THE WILDCARDS, MISFITS & DABBLERS.” The billboard is right next to the Burnside Skate Park, which was originally built without permission by skateboarders in a part of town that’s gritty, but up and coming -- filled with young, hungry people who aren’t afraid to take risks and embrace new challenges.

That’s the spirit I carry with me to Denver and it will continue to drive and motivate me throughout my career. I can’t wait to get started with the Nuggets and sincerely look forward to the next step in my journey.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support.

Contrast that with LaMarcus' letter to fans and the city. Mason wasn't even here 2 years...

Oh gotcha. Yeah that seems about right. I have records on everybody too. Just files and files on everybody because I am so emotional. I keep xanax and drinks by me at all times. All I have time to do in life is post on this forum. It's my life. My cause. EVERYTHING SLY, FUCKING EVERYTHING ITS ALL I HAVE

Earlier this week someone was bitching "why isn't Neil doing anything" someone replied "Neil's deals always come out of nowhere"... well called in that one! (dviss I believe)

Something else I've been pondering is if the unconventional nature of Plumlee's game is actually a negative overall impact on the teams play. Don't get me wrong he has been one of my favorite guys, but when your starting center is one of your primary ball handlers but has zero range at all, is the offensive flow out of wack? In honesty if Plumlee isn't handling the ball what production does he provide? He has to handle the ball in the midrange territory to adequately hit open players, but can't hit a jumper if need be. We also haven't had a post for him to realistically dump to. We need our center on the block fighting for boards and put backs.

If we would force Meyers to play on the block we would be moving in a better direction.

Having Nurkic is going to be more valuable than we know especially at his age.

I remember in the early 80's a friend and I got lost in Old Town for a few hours. It was great training for learning the tendencies of a heroin addict. Of course. then there was the 90's....
I could tell you what it was like in the late sixties and seventies but there are knowledgeable guys in here that can do the same (if they can remember those days). I grew up in South Trenton, NJ where many Cray Brother beings developed their skillsets. One guy who we all knew was certifiable would use mental cruelty and long term fear to pancake guys. He would walk up to them, invade their three foot parameter space, look them in the eye without blinking and say I'll break your face but it won't be until Thursday, leaving the desperate teenager in awestruck fear with the vapor of MD 20/20 breath lingering in the air. This barbarian is the only guy in Trenton to steal a garbage truck and side ram cars on a one way street doing a LMAO as the cops tagged behind.

There's nothing not to like about a defense first...280lb 7 ft 22 year old who can make a layup, chipshot and midrange jumper and protect the lane, block shots..he could be Joel Przybilla with an offensive game.
He makes net gliding free throws too :)

Another part of Nurkic' game that could take a jump in Portland are his assists. He averaged more apg than Plumlee did in Brooklyn and flashed good vision in Denver. With more freedom and minutes, there's no reason why he couldn't supplant Plumlee in that area.

Just a little taste, from his rookie season. That second one is pretty much Plumlees specialty. No reason why that play can't stay in the playbook.

Happy with this deal. If we were playing great this season, I'm sure Paul Allen would've been willing to pay Plumle but since we're having an off year, it doesn't make sense. I'm loving all the Nurkic videos. I remember at the beginning of the season saying "I wouldn't mind having one of Denver's two big white guys" and now we got one! Plus we get a pick. People were saying we could maybe turn our picks and Crabbe interest Jimmy Butler? Holy cow that would be amazing. Now, what do we do tomorrow vs Atlanta? We were heavily depending on Turner and Plumlee to share ballhandling duties with our back court and tomorrow, we'll have neither of them. This profoundly affects our offense. Stotts has work to do.

Chicago would be mad to let Butler go for our picks and Crabbe. If he moves here we'll be a playoffs team this year which means all three picks will be non-lottery. Memphis and Cleveland are basically guaranteed to be non-lottery.

This is gonna be Rolo esque move. Understated at first, but it will be a big deal.

We don't have any big bodies. He's gonna help our defense immensely.

I'll really miss Plums' bball instincts but this is a trade we could not pass up.

We keep secret records on everyone.

I like Nurkic but I hope this fresh start will get his head on straight like it Wasnt in Denver this year. Stotts has to use him in the right way too. This guy has offense skills from o- 16ft out. No Stotts he not 3 point shooter so dont try to make him one.Use him to his strengths in the offense.

I'd be okay with Olshey being done til the off-season. He did what he had to--got some value for a player he was going to have to lose for nothing otherwise in free agency. Rather than looking to trade for a power forward upgrade, in a non-contention season, I'd let Vonleh play starter minutes next to The Nurk and see what happens. Vonleh has shown some ability to shoot jumpers. If he can progress on defense, continue rebounding well and knock down some shots, he might fit well with Nurkic and solidify himself as, dare I say it, an asset.

And if he stinks--better draft pick. And we know more about Vonleh's upside.
Vonleh is an irritating player. He looks like he has tremendous physical tools and skill but it has never translated onto the court. Dude shoots under .500 from 0-3, that is absolutely pathetic.
