VINCI BATTLES TO NÜRNBERG VICTORY
Top seed Roberta Vinci overcame a mid-match blip to defeat Barbora Krejcikova and advance to the second round of the NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNGSCUP.
Following early exits in Madrid and Rome, Vinci arrived in Germany in need of time on court ahead of next week's French Open. And she got just that against Krejcikova, battling to a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory in a fraction over two hours.

Sabine Lisicki fails in the second round of Nuremberg
The former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki (26) has adopted the WTA tournament in Nuremberg already in the second round.
The Berliner seeded five succumbed in their second match of the American Varvara Lepchenko after 1:35 hours with 2: 6, 6: 7 (5: 7).

BERTENS DASHES GOERGES' NÜRNBERG DREAM
Kiki Bertens dashed Julia Goerges' hopes of winning her home event by prevailing in a dramatic semifinal at the NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNGSCUP on Friday.
Goerges is based in Regensburg, an hour south of Nürnberg, but to the dismay of the crowd Bertens had not read the script, holding her nerve to win, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(4).
