At some point, someone is going to have to look into this stuff.

My guess is the Democrats will investigate it at the same time they investigate Fannie and Freddie--after the election.:sigh:

There were more votes cast in Ohio in 2004 than there were registered voters (by 30,000+). But hey, that's not election fraud, is it?

wasn't the result of the vote radically different from the kerry victory that the exit polls were promising? just saying..

That says more about the exit polls than the result of the election in Ohio.

Ah, no evidence for that. The exit polls could be wrong, or the vote could have been fixed. No way to tell from the data presented.

Me, I'm not a big believer in vote fraud. I'm sure it does happen, but you'd have to have both luck and a major effort for it to matter. The number of voters is so large that having Mickey Mouse vote isn't going to change things. You have to destroy/change the ballots for entire precincts, in a state where the vote is very close.

How would those votes be cast, if they are registered to people who don't exist? To use an example from a previous new story, if "Mickey Mouse" is registered, how do you get "Mickey Mouse" to the voting booth to cast this fraudulent vote?

Over-registration seems more like registration drive groups trying to rip off whomever they are working for, rather than election fraud, since I don't see how these registered non-existant people can be converted into actual votes.

If they register in two polling precincts, they show up in both on election day and vote twice. If they're registered in two states, they vote in both states. If they're registered under different names, they vote under those different names.

If they're democrats and the voting is punched cards, the precinct captain uses the voting machine in the trunk of his car to vote for them and checks off their name as voted. As happened in Florida in 2000.

How are they accounting for it? How does a voter get deregistered if they die or move?
I'm not doubting you, I never thought about this before. What's the mechanism?

The states' attorney generals are supposed to check the voter rolls against lists like convicted felons and death certificates.

At least here in Vegas, I have to produce ID that matches the address on my registration.

Still, if you move away and don't try to vote in Vegas, how do they know? Aren't you still a registered voter in Vegas in that case?

It would have been easy for me to vote in both Colorado and Oregon. I received my Oregon voter address confirmation before the deadline to register in CO.
