That's terrible. And I don't care if they did play a lot against our 3rd string a lot. That was terrible.
 
Initially, that looks like a pretty bad stat. But, keep in mind how long their O was on the field, man. We scored a lot and fast. Our defense tightened in the RZ You'll find a rather large amount of games from last season where the opponent had an extraordinary large amount of yards -- yet, guess who got the big W - and usually decisively so. Remember last week? We had more total yards than LSU.

Nevada had 160 yards of offense at halftime.

OMG, the 3rd stingers gave up yards to a 12-1 team from last year!!

That's true. They did run 90 plays.

Nevada won the time of possession 38:18 - 21:42

since losing time of possession is expected with Oregon's hurry up offense, it's better to look at the yards per play then total yards to measure how the Duck's D is doing. By that measure last year, they were tops in in-conference play. The other stat that is important is (of course) TOs

Well said Stomp. All about YPP when we are scoring every 15 seconds (that was an exaggeration).

I agree, a very good point. NV averaged 5.7 yards per play. We averaged 8.7. That said, I'd like to see us hold opponents to less than 4.5 yards per play.
 
Not that it matters, lol, but I think you both have valid points. It's a bit odd to argue with the results from Sat - given how many players rotated in/out on defense and how play becomes conservative (you don't see players giving it all up or taking risks) when you have a large lead and are clearly more the more talented team. It's also normal for fans to focus on the negative/areas to improve.

Nevada is a decent team. Ducks played well. There are areas to improve!

Those guys are sorely missed. Especially Blair. He was so tall and QB's had to often throw around him as they couldn't make some over him.And Matthews was so darn smart.

They're gone. That's how college football works. Move one and embrace the new defense, or continue to bitch about 49 point wins against a 13-1 team from last year.
 
No knock on Matthews he was a hell of a MLB, but I really like our LB corps, they just need some time. Kaddu is solid, same with Alonso, Lokembo is looking good, and know disrespect to Paysinger but Clay is looking more dynamic than I ever remember him looking. Then Stuckey adds some depth and we have Wallace, Derrick Malone, and Coleman sitting in the wings. Of all of those LB's only Kaddu* wont be here next year

*most likely he is the only one gone.
 
goodness remember when John Bacon was the starting MLB?? Loved his attitude though, but this corps has come a loooooooong way.

I know. We've had solid LB play for several years, and several years in the future.
 
Clay is injured. Hopefully it isn't too serious, because I don't think he'll be needed for Missouri State.
