So if Fox News were to endorse Romney...... would you be surprised?

can I pose a serious question?

Does anyone really think the endorsements of newspapers matter anymore?

I think they matter in close elections and if they go against the grain. The Washington Post or the NY Times endorsing Obama? Not so much, as they are expected to endorse him. If you saw the Wall Street Journal endorse Obama, it would be a huge deal.

Good Gawd. What a stupid thread.

Anyone with a brain knew that the NYT was going to endorse Obama.

In other news, Rush Limbaugh is endorsing Romney. Maybe I'll start a thread about it.

This post encapsulates the attitude and classlessness that has been the Obama campaign of 2012.

Such a huge difference from the 2008 campaign.

And a big reason why he is losing - despite the endorsement of a newspaper that has gone from one of the most respected in the world, to a sad joke. Their coverage of Bengazi is opening a lot of eyes to the rot that has ruined a once great institution.

yeah, because all the posters who support a candidate should be represented by 1 poster (paging papag, you're on deck!)

Reread the post.

I am saying the Mick is merely parroting the tone and tenor of the Obama campaign 2012. Doesn't matter if some Obama supporters are not that way. The campaign is that.

I am saying that the choice to run a mean negative campaign is a big part of the current losing.

Romney ran as mean and negative a campaign as I've ever seen a republican run in the primaries.

But I'd point out it didn't exactly get him victories by wide margins in those primaries (before the others dropped out).

The last Republican the NYT endorsed was Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956.

Pretty telling, since Ike was the last decent, honest man to run on the republican ticket. I guess the NYT must have found his "military-industrial complex" warning speech to be entirely factual.

Nytimes didn't like Lincoln.

And to think, a few years ago they were whining about debt, deficits, and Gitmo. What a bunch of scum.
